    Applying wax in SUNLIGHT

Yea being early April it SHOULDN'T be too hot here in North Carolina. Thanks for the link. I have been wanting to try HD Speed, but it's an AIO polish and not just a wax. Maybe I can use it as an upsell for this detail since an AIO still requires more work than just applying a wax and thus...

    Applying wax in SUNLIGHT

Well, I have not reopened yet so his trucks detail isn't scheduled till April. I was just wanting to be prepared and have the wax on hand if it was something I needed to buy.

    Applying wax in SUNLIGHT

I realize waxing in the sun isn't recommended, but I have a customer with a 5" lift and 37" tires on his truck and there is no way I can get it in my garage. I can manage to get it in some partial shade, but doubt I can get the whole truck shaded. I know there are some wax/sealants that can be...

    Spot Free Water system

Ahhh that makes sense. Yea I think I can manage dumping the old resin out and adding new...haha. Yes, I am going to use the CR Spotless system with my Ryobi 1700 psi pressure washer (1.2 gpm). I might have went a little on the high side with the 10 gallons rinsing per a wash, but I...

    Spot Free Water system

Thanks for that link! So assuming my water is as bad as I think it is (I get horrible water spots and people in my neighborhood even have fresh water delivered to them) I can expect to get around 190 gallons of water from the CR Spotless system. This would be using a pressure washer and I am...

    Spot Free Water system

Ok. Assuming my water is pretty bad (in the 450 ppm range) and I use the CR spotless system for ALL rinsing of the soap during the wash process, any idea how long the resin/filter will go before being needed to be changed? Just wondered if anyone had a similar situation to give me a rough idea...

    Spot Free Water system

Ok guys, correct me if I am wrong, but I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. Most of these de-ionization systems consist of two canisters. One appears to be just a filter and the other contains the resin. I have a filter under my house, but what if I mounted another filter...

    Spot Free Water system

Been looking into the CR Spotless system for a while now. The cost is the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger. Anyone here rig up their own filtration and water softener setup?

    Wool or foam

^ What he said! A Meguiar's microfiber cutting pad fits right between the wool and foam pads as far as cutting ability goes. A microfiber cutting pad is likely to finish better than a wool pad. Now if your removing sanding scratches then a wool pad would be the way to go.

Starting a new side line *Need advice*

Consider yourself extremely lucky. I would die to have a situation like that.

Starting a new side line *Need advice*

I agree with the above comment of forgetting the Lexol. I don't have any experience with 303s cleaner (just the protectant which is great stuff), but I would look into Meguiars D108 Super Degreaser. Dilute it down to 10:1 for interior use and heavy soiled areas like door jams you can use it 4:1...

    Garage Floor Coating (concrete)

Thanks so much for the info! Your right, 5 gallons should give me two good coats on the garage floor. I don't mind spending in the neighborhood of $300 if it is as good of a product as they claim. I didn't see any info on what steps they recommend before applying that sealer. Do you know if...

    Garage Floor Coating (concrete)

Great to know as I have been looking into the clear sealers. Garage is only 3 years old so floor is in great shape and NC gets very little snow/salt so not much of an issue there. Thanks for your help!

    Garage Floor Coating (concrete)

So I am looking into putting a coating of some sort on the concrete inside my 20x24 garage that I detail out of. Besides the obvious of making the floor look nicer, I am really more concerned with protecting the bare concrete from my chemicals and also aiding in keeping the dust down. I'm not...

    A Note on Engine Detailing

Was it blown dry after the pressure washing?? I know of some reputable shops that use that exact method, but they blow the engine dry after pressure washing it clean.

Share your best business card design tip?

So I started my business 2 years ago and threw together a cheap business card. I didn't have a website, Facebook page, or even logo for my business at that time so it is kind of out dated. I don't feel that it looks professional at all and honestly I am not even proud of it, which causes me to...
