How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

Yup, that is pretty much exactly my plan, except I am using TRIX instead of Iron X + Tar X to do it in one shot. As stated previously my plan is Carpro reset wash, Trix and then another Carpro reset wash. Then I'll see where I am at. If it still wasn't beading I would do a mild clay plus...

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

Yes, possibly clay. Depending on the results I get from the reset and trix. So your recommendations for Clay is basically every bar that AG sells, but a preference toward the Meguiars kit??

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

You are right you didn't say it, but I assumed it since you suggested claying and polishing. Actually what I am leaning towards now is trying TRIX instead of Iron X to cover all my bases in terms of decon. Plan as of now: Carpro reset wash. Trix Another carpro reset wash. Possibly clay...

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

Just curious why you think IronX and Reset wouldn't do the trick? If it doesn't what about trying Optimum Poli-Seal?

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

I want to try and do this without any abrasives first, including clay. So I think for now I am going to try CarPro Reset and Iron X. Anyone know who has the best price on it?

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

Thanks this sounds good, but I am a little confused. Are you saying I should use CarPro Reset AND an APC like Power Clean together in doing a thorough wash or can I use just one or the other. The Iron X I was thinking about because I liver near and cross over railroad tracks almost every time I...

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

Yeah let me know how that works for you. I was also thinking of trying a wash with Optimum Power Clean but I am not sure exactly how to use that on the paint finish (What ratio and the specific procedure)

How to revive water beading of Opti-Coat?

I would certainly hope so after only one year when it's advertised as a permanent coating. Plus I had it professionally done by an authorized OC installer. Nothing at all abrasive has been applied to the finish. Just a few basic hand washes with car soap and chenille microfiber mitts. There is...

Can I simply do a "touchless" wash with an Opti-coated car?

I don't understand why anyone would think using a foam gun or cannon with snow foam would strip a wax off the car. The foams like Honey Dew are specifically stated to be safe in that they won't strip waxes and sealants.

Which is what the product is specifically designed for. I'm not saying you are the other guy are wrong, I just don't see how this foaming soap wouldn't loosen dirt and lubricate the surface.

Can I simply do a "touchless" wash with an Opti-coated car?

Yes, I've moved on from thinking I can do it with a power washer only, and have decided to still use my wash mitts and 2-bucket method with grit guard. What I am working on now is figuring out what to do before i get to that point: 1.)Just an old fashioned rinse down with a hose. 2.) Pre-soak...
