From the picture that boat looks like it is in pretty good shape. Most products for cars can be used on boats without any issue. I am not familiar with Optimum though. I would think you would be fine. I currently use 3M Imperial Compound but I wouldn't mind trying something else.

From what I have researched most auto and boat polish/wax is interchangable. For example Collinte 845 (sold at AG) is the same as their marine version 925. The same is true for many 3M products. So to answer your question I would think you could use either poli-seal or Optimum followed by...
3M makes a product called Imperial Compound which is very popular in my area. Collinite is the best LSP for boats IMP. I will be using 845 but the folks at Collinte have told me the 885 is actually a little more durable. My boat is in pretty good shape so I will be claying followed by 3M...
I agree, everything I have read says Collinite is the way to go on boats. I like 3M products for the boat as well. I will be claying followed by 3M Finesse-it with Collinte 845 as an LSP. 303 is the best on the seats and interior.
I purchased my PC from Lowes but if I did it over again I would just get the kit from AG. Much better customer service just in case something goes wrong with the PC. I prefer the Edge 2K pads.
I am thinking of purchasing the following:
1. DP - Glass Restorer - I have pretty bad water spots on my windshield
2. DP - Total Internior cleaner - My wifes interior is very dirty so I need something strong that will work on leather and plastic.
3. DP - 4 in 1 - I need a rinseless wash...
I agree, buy online. I bought mine (7336) from Lowes but in the end after buying pads etc. it probably would have been cheaper to buy one of the AG kits with pads included. You also get the added bonus of AG support and customer service and that can't be beat, I know from experience.
I just ordered DP Wheel Cleaner (1 Gallon) and was informed via e-mail that it was on back order however, AG upgraded my order to Pinnacle at no extra charge.
Thank you AG for the outstanding customer service.
I guess Christmas came a little early for you. I am curious how the bonnets work out for you and which pad you end of using. I plan on using a bonnet to remove AIO and SG from my boat to try and save my arm.
