A few easy to answer questions...(prepping for free shipping order)

Perfect, thank you. Interestingly enough it says that the preferred pad for the Menzerna FG400 is a microfiber pad. Menzerna FG400 Fast Gloss Compound Review with Photos and Video So the Menzerna SF400 is equivalent to the M205 in terms of its applications, it just finishes down a little bit...

A few easy to answer questions...(prepping for free shipping order)

I think you misread my post, I have experience with the M105 compound I just didn't like how messy it was and the M205 didn't finish down as well as I thought it should have. (Maybe that was my pads fault)

A few easy to answer questions...(prepping for free shipping order)

Thanks for the answers so far guys. It's very hard for a standard detailing "hobbyist" to stay on the cutting edge with all of the new products constantly coming out. I have a Griots Garage 6" random dual action random orbital buffer. I currently have foam pads that I used last year on my 2007...

A few easy to answer questions...(prepping for free shipping order)

    1) I recall seeing a new product that just came out that replaced the clay bar. It was essentially a pad that you put on your dual action buffer. Does anyone know what product I am talking about? 2) What is the best foam cannon available for a standard garden hose without a pressure washer...

ONR technique - do you wring out the towel when you put it in the mixture?

I use both the cobra 16x16s and the chinchillas and pak shaks.

ONR technique - do you wring out the towel when you put it in the mixture?

What am I asking exactly is when pulling the microfiber out of the ONR dilution bucket, do you wring it out and then proceed to wash the panel or do you prefer to do it sopping wet?

    Microfiber wiping/drying/buffing technique

Any particular way you guys like to run microfibers over the paint? This includes drying, buffing out wax/polish/compound/sealant, or using them of a rinseless wash such as ONR I've heard of people only running the microfiber vertically or horizontally and always wondered why.

My 90 day waiting period is approaching and I need sealant.

Rubbing alcohol. <25% dilution with distilled water. Mineral spirits. Prep-sol. Car-pro eraser. Lots of options.

First FULL detail with Blackfire, does my gameplan make sense?

Have you looked at that paint closely? See what kind of defects you're dealing with first and then make your product choices.

Mixing ONR with Mineral spirits for pre-sealant wipe.

Yes, the dried M105 is absolutely terrible to try to clean up.

Mixing ONR with Mineral spirits for pre-sealant wipe.

I've already polished with M205. There is still some white specs of M105 on pieces of trim and windows etc. I'm worried since the mineral spirits is petro based, the oils will just fill in any remaining swirls. Also worried that there is nothing to encapsulate any dust or dirt on the surface in...

Mixing ONR with Mineral spirits for pre-sealant wipe.

Also, since mineral spirits is petro-based, wouldn't it be counter intuitive to use it to strip a cars paint down to see the paints "true condition?"

Mixing ONR with Mineral spirits for pre-sealant wipe.

I understand that. Are you suggesting that what I want to do would be pointless than?

Mixing ONR with Mineral spirits for pre-sealant wipe.

I'm trying to tackle the job of cleaning up M105 splatter & dust without introducing new swirls and scratches into my paint. Do you guys think that mixing ONR with mineral spirits would be a bad idea?

How to properly do a 50/50 IPA wipe down?

There is nothing that petrifies me more than getting M105 splatter on a freshly compounded and polished panel. The splatter is darn near impossible to get off without doing more harm than good!

How to properly do a 50/50 IPA wipe down?

I have already polished with M205. The M205 left hardly any dust, the M105 particulates are terrible though. They cling to the paints surface. The IPA is for both inspection and preparation for sealant. I'm trying to not mar the paint or introduce new swirls or scratches.

How to properly do a 50/50 IPA wipe down?

The purpose is to clean up the remnants of the M105 dust and to prepare the surface for Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant.

How to properly do a 50/50 IPA wipe down?

I have searched for some suggestions & information on how to properly do a 50/50 wipe down with no luck. I have a NBP acura and it's just been freshly clayed, compounded, & polished and I'm a little hesitant to just go right at it with a micro fiber and the 50/50 mixture. Is there a particular...
