    Newbie looking for direction/help

I would buy a PC or Flex polisher kit. One of the kits with Menzerna polish would be your best option I feel. You will need some orange pads and white pads. I have a Flex and could not be happier with it. Do you have a price range of what you plan to spend? :buffing::welcome:

    I thought I knew something-but I know nothing

Anything from Poorboy's is pretty good for the money. I love professional polish (just ordered a 32oz bottle, goes a long way). It is great by machine or by hand. Natty's Blue is a great looking wax for $20. Or you could try some of the Duragloss products. You can buy them at Carquest, though...

    I thought I knew something-but I know nothing

I would return anything that you can. You could do much better from here for the same amount of money. The Megs G110 polisher is only $140, or $170 for a Porter Cable 7424 kit. If not your wasting your money on any less quality polisher in my opinion. If you opt for no polisher at this time you...

    I thought I knew something-but I know nothing

The Flex 3401 is a polisher that is very popular for a reason. I bought one in November and had no problems learning to use it. It is an amazing machine. If you do a search on it you will want one....soon. :buffing:

    I thought I knew something-but I know nothing

Buy a Flex, some pads (orange, white, blue), some menzerna polish, a good wax (I just ordered some Collinite 915 today:D), and keep reading on here. I have been "detailing" on a small scale for ten years now. After joining this forum in October 08', I feel my skills and knowledge have grown to a...

Best pad and polish to use for heavily oxidized paint???

If you have a Carquest in your area you may check them out. They sometimes have some things in there that I would not expect.

    Which Do You Recommend?

Duragloss car wash is very nice. I also really like Duragloss 261 tire shine.

    Brand Loyalty

I do not limit myself to one brand. If I had to choose, I think it would be Poorboy's....or Duragloss. Both offer a wide range of products at great prices. I use many other brands as well though. No single company has the best everything.

Suggestions for a darker metallic red?

I love the look of the RMG. Can't wait to try it someday. I would try a few layers of Klasse SG and some Natty's Blue. Or either one alone if your trying to cut costs.
