i started using excel in the late 90's ... out of 300+ postal employee workers, i got promoted due to my excel skills ... this meant, no more 1pm-1am night shift hours (with 1 day off, usually a tuesday) to a 7:30-4pm mon-friday gig ... i LOVE excel and it saved my life ... lol ... i now drive...

glad to hear that ... i researched a bit, then bought it ... i used the meg 105 and a surbuf on half the hood, it worked great ... im just trying to avoid using the 105 - i absolutely hate it! ... prob the 20th time ive posted that ... it works great, but it wears me out .........

^^^^^^^^^^ are you going to correct the vette? ... if so, what do you plan on using?

im doing a new 2011 black maxima as well ... what are these dealerships doing to these new cars when they send them out? ... swirls on a new car is nuts!!!!!!!! anyway i just ordered some optimum compound II and surbuf pads ... my plan is to follow that with some m205/orange LC foam pad ...

come on guys.............no love for the vettes in here, lol ... yes compared to other cars, its a tough car to correct ... i was striving for perfection and spent all winter on mine ... i was new, still new and fought the 105 every step of the way ... so i dont hate vettes, but i love/hate the...

LOVE the 205, i use it with the blue lakewood pad ... i like the menz po85rd for a nice gloss as well ... im just done with the 105 ... i need a new correction compound.......

thanks for the reply ... ive heard some good stuff about that optimum ... i did my entire vette with the 105 and never got the hang of it ... i used a lot, i used a little, i worked in 70*, i worked it in 90*, i buffed quick, i buffed slow...........it didnt matter, it chalked up and gummed up...

maybe somebody will chime in, but im doing a 2011 (brand) new maxima ... swirled to death from the dealership ... had to be an automatic car wash ... its black ... i hate using the meguiars 105, but its hard to beat for correction ... what else works good for correcting the clear? ... how about...

i think wizards is a very good product, its local and very affordable ... i love the shine master sealant, easy to work with ... i used the finish cut on the vette and it wouldnt budge the swirls, but its a good cutter on softer clears ... good products though :xyxthumbs:

105 205 (polish) menz po85rd (wax) pinnacle signature series 2 got an entire thread of my car on here, somewhere ... my camera sucks and does the paint no justice ... you can see the metallic pop! ... get the menz! good luck .......

i read on another website to cut the 105 with OP, i dont know what (OP) is??? ... 70/30 cut to keep it working longer without gumming up ... the next time i use it, im going to try cutting it with the 205 ... i killed myself using the 105, but the results were worth it ... i found using a lot...

since i was in a groove, i used the same exact process on the 04 wrangler........... took the flares off and repainted them, used a KOI plastic bumper gloss black ... they were almost gray ...

now i need some help with wax on the bottom of the car ... textured plastic .......... what can i get?

all done and finally got pics ......... wish i had a better camera, its a nikon 3.2 pixel camera from forever ago ........ i think i have this thing about 99% swirl free, the menz and pinnacle just shot the car to another level..............

i used the tangerine, but i also used the same tangerine with the megs 205 ... so i whipped out the brand new cyan pad ... i didnt use the aqua wax like you commented on earlier, i can use that on the mustang/jeep ... i will stick with the pinnacle mist for the vette :xyxthumbs: do you have an...

still no sunshine, but the car is done ..... im beyond blown away ... my hats off to everyones input ... pics coming tomorrow, i think we may see sunshine ... i used the menz po85rd with a lake country hydro tech 6.5" cyan pad and the results were great ... it says its a cutting pad and it came...

im LOVING this menz PO85rd with the pinnacle sig series 2 ............ found the look that ive wanted .... 75% done and were not due any sunshine til wednesday ......... ugh!!!!!

i fought that vette all winter ... i couldnt tell you the hours i have in that car ... reading matts write up, i thought that the 105/surbuf combo was about the best for it - because he mentions about all of the failed attempts to correct the corvettes hard clear ... i know i just did a fender...

is there anything more aggressive than the m105 and using a surbuf pad? ... each panel on the vette took a good 3-4 rounds of buffing ... (or) maybe its the buffer im using? ... which is a craftsman rotary, i have a 6" backing plate hooked to it ... i think my 2 speeds are 1450 and 1600 rpms ...
