Stripping existing waxes/sealants before Ceramic Coating

As I understand CarPro Essence is a polish/primer so I’d skip the Eraser step between the Essence and Coating as you’re only going to introduce a risk of marring your perfected surface by the Eraser wipe down. For a similar reason I’d also skip the Reload step after coating unless the car is...

Best protection for a new Ford Mustang Mach E that is NOT a ceramic coating?

The new electric Mustang uses flexible QLED panels under a poly “coating” so you can change the color of the car(and even add remove graphics) so who knows what may work? Im the MAN :props:

Suggestions for working with new VW paint?

Sorry I was using scratches in the generic sense as a swirl and a scratch are the same thing.

Suggestions for working with new VW paint?

Just an reminder that Essence although being a great finishing polish it does contain “semi-permanent fillers” which may just be hiding some of your defects. You did say you followed up with Griot’s compound which would likely remove them but don’t be surprised if some of the scratches reappear...

Suggestions for working with new VW paint?

I would suggest 6 inch RUPES Medium Yellow Wool Polishing Pad and CARPRO ClearCut Fast Cut Compound 250 ml.. Then finish with an LC orange Rupes Yellow foam and Carpro Reflect or Essence if it really needs it, but the yellow wool should finish down ok on rock hard clear. I think this is the way...

Coating a White BMW X3 with Carpro SiC

Thanks dgage, sorry you are correct I believe they will still sell UK. I have seen on the YouTube’s that some folks recommend layering on top of UK but I wanted to see how it behaved on its own. I understand some folks say that it performs slightly better when layered over UK but this seems...

Coating a White BMW X3 with Carpro SiC

Ok, so a buddy brought me their 340ix to coat with Carpro SiC. I did a decon wash only to quickly notice that the Kamikaze ISM I had installed a year and a half earlier was still holding strong. I broke the news to him, and told him as much as he wanted something “new” it would be a waste to...

    Carpro SiC pointers?

Thanks Guy’s, I’ve watched the CarCraft YouTube video. I have also found those 10ml bottles and with a coupon I had it seemed like a great way to go if they last as long as the 30-50ml bottles as I can usually do a normal sedan with 15ml to spare on a 30ml bottle. I was going to use it today...

    Carpro SiC pointers?

For all the coaters that have used the new SiC coating I’m looking for any suggestions/pointers before I do my first vehicle with it. I’ve read a lot of positive accounts of how SiC looks and performs but I’ve also heard negatives about about how it flashes. I plan on doing a test spot and...

    Quick correction

So the lady decided to do some “off roading” over the weekend and got a little to close to some brush on the side of the road. Scratches are in hard VW paint. Started with some CarPro Reflect and a Buff and Shine URO-Fiber Microfiber Pad(least aggressive to start). Knocked it down some but...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

You’re truly “sick”, but in a good way… I never even heard of a Victa mower. I recently got a new mower, electric and mostly plastic, you’d be soooooo disappointed.

    Clear bra removal

I have also heard about using the steamer. With the steam I would think the risk of damaging the clearcoat might be slightly less, but as long a you’re careful with the heat gun I would think the end results would be the same. The adhesive however came off remarkably easy with a little...

Using heat gun to remove rubber marks from paint?

I’ve used that R3 on my track car many times to remove a lot of race rubber. I think it works as advertised, and would recommend.

    Clear bra removal

So I’ve been harping on the GF to have her clear bra replaced. She got the car used and it had a cheap bra installed. It served it’s purpose protecting the paint but fogged up and started to peel up on the trailing edge. I finally talked her into getting it done before this winter, so now it...
