What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

So the ES needed a wash today, so I got after it early as the PDR guy is coming to look at my roof mid-morning.

I decided to use CarPro Lift as it's a great cleaner AND I decided to apply something to the ES afterwards. I used 2 oz in my CG's foam gun and it suds up VERY well. I let it dwell and moved onto the tires/wheels.

The tires/wheels got the usual Brake Buster. I scrubbed the barrels and spokes as usual and also the tires. I think I'm going to go back out there and add another coat of Feynlab Black Velvet Tire Coating

I then rinsed everything down and it was beading great but had that "extra" sharpness to it! Free flowing water was used as usual to knock out the beads and I dried it with Microfiber Madness Dry me a River towel, Griot's Garage PFM to finish up and random mf towel to dry the tires/wheels.

Now that the ES was washed with a stronger product I decided to apply a fresh coat of protection and that protection today was Adam's spray graphene coating. I've used this in the spring and really liked it. Derek0609 told me he liked it better than 303 because it's not as "grabby", so I decided on it. I'm going to apply the 303 spray graphene coating to the rims when I apply that Feynlab Black Velvet Tire Coating in a bit.

The Adam's spray graphene coating is VERY easy to use, both in application AND removal. I swear the GLOSS was taken up a notch or two, wish I had a meter for confirmation It has "candy" look to it and cures in 4 hrs, the main difference between it and 303 as 303 needs Z E R O cure time. I also applied this product to the glass and trim w/o a problem, it's ALL sealed up.

I'm going on my yearly Tail of the Dragon trip in about 3 weeks, so the ES is protected for the trip. It's a 600 mile drive to get there, then all the heavy braking/accelerating, so everything gets hammered

I may post some pics later, probably will look the same so forgiveness in advance

Nicely done!

Must have been the day for microfibre sorting.

I got some new utility towels delivered this week, meaning a bit of a re-organisation of the cabinet.

Epic!

Results from my early morning work and bonus pic of PDR guy's equipment inspecting the ding in my roof, enjoy. Btw this is 2x's Feynlab Black Velvet Tire Coating after it dried and 2hrs into cure time for the Adam's spray graphene coating

Did a quick engine bay cleaning with Griot's engine cleaner and Meg Hyper Dressing (diluted the RTU hyper dressing 1:1 for a final concentration of 3:1). The hyper dressing seemed a little splotchy on the engine cover so I reapplied. Windshield got pretty dirty but I'm planning on claying and redoing the Griot's glass sealant later.

I am doing my “new car prep” months after buying it and correcting and protecting panels one by one when I can

I had the work below done in April and although I am through with physical therapy and doing well I still don’t have a fraction of the strength and stamina I had so I can only do so much wax on wax off at a time

I got up extra early and had the car and the wash gear outside at daybreak

Did a very thorough wash and deconned the left front fender and then clayed with my fine Nanoskin mitt

I did a pressure rinse and a sheeting rinse and pulled it in for a very thorough drying with towels and shop vac set on blow

I prepped the fender and taped it off

I used Sonax PF with a 3” Rupes yellow on my trusty PC, just didn’t need the 15mm

The lower foot was by hand and I ran out of steam

IPA wipe showed good results so I put on a quick coat of Megs HCW, which I have been using on each new panel as I go along

Under lousy shop lights

I feel I should get extra detailing points for managing to fill 2 buckets with laundry to correct one tiny fender

Happy long detailing weekend everyone

Chilly...HOLY SH!T man

When it comes to detailing a car it's not a race, as long as you finish my man, WHOA The advantage to taking your time is seeing that blue paint longer and more days in a row

Once perfected and when that LSP is getting weak or looks like it needs to be "topped up", 303 Touchless Sealant is your friend because it's so easy to use and use on EVERYTHING

Yup, and seeing as how my truck is fully corrected and stuffs the car is all I have on my plate other than maintenance

I’m stretching it out to keep me occupied

lol

I will keep the 303 touch less sealant in mind

I have to do some work on my garage to finish sealing it against the constant blowing dirt and if successful I might try an actual coating for the first time

Still undecided because I love tinkering around with sealants

The 303 Touchless Sealant, as well as Gyeon WetCoat, are SO EASY to use and especially after seeing that shoulder I wanted to pass along much easier options. I know this, "spray on, hose off" is easier than "wipe on, wipe off", plus you can use on your rims and again, just easier to use....for anyone

Clayed the windshield and redid the Griot's glass sealant. Then wheels, tires and rinseless wash on the rest of the car. So if I decide to go to cars and coffee tomorrow, I don't have to pretend I was there to grocery shop and decided to walk around and look at the cars.

I helped a friend buy a new lawn mower for the coming spring growth. Mowers and Detailing are my "thing's", so I was glad to help out. I also offered to have a look at her old one and get it running again, which took me all of 5 min. So I though it would be rude to not clean it up a bit. A 30 year old mower was never going to be pristine, but plenty of Brake Buster, Megs Trim Detailer and Hyper Dressing did wonders. I even dressed the "tires".

And because who doesn't like a bit of mower porn, here is the new one straight off the showroom floor. New mowers are like new cars to me. Yes yes, I am deranged.

You’re truly “sick”, but in a good way… I never even heard of a Victa mower. I recently got a new mower, electric and mostly plastic, you’d be soooooo disappointed.

I've heard that electric mowers are too light, if your lawn isn't smooth they bounce and produce an uneven cut. I did wash mine after the last use, no product used , just the hose. And just for DFB, it's a Victa, but with a Honda motor on it.

Looks like a B&S motor…

I’m an Acura car guy, which means Honda and I now have a Honda upper-end self-propelled mower. But I miss my previous B&S motor on my previous Toro Super Recycler. The B&S had much more power(torque) than the Honda. My Honda almost stalls when I engage the mower blades, even at full speed.

But I’m betting the Honda was much more efficient and released less pollution. :D

Even here TQ is an issue for Honda engines

Yes, the mower I posted is fitted with a B&S. I think Dave was referencing his own Victa is fitted with a Honda. I was surprised how smooth and quite the newer OHV B&S's are.

"Victa is a renowned garden and lawn care company with a history spanning 66 years. From humble beginnings in a Concord NSW backyard where it was created in 1952, Victa has expanded to become a global exporter of lawn care products."

Although an Australian brand, they were bought out by Briggs & Stratton in mid 2000's. Victa have used a variety of other brands engines (B&S, Honda and Tecumseh) as well as their own two-stroke engines, although emission regulations have killed the two-stroke engine a few years ago.

Sorry, off topic. Can you tell I like mowers as much as I like cars? :D

Back on topic, added some Gamma Seals to my detailing buckets.

Behold my life's work........

Yesterday I tried some Adam's In and Out spray in the engine bay. This product is an aerosol but doesn't have the traditional spray nozzle. That said I wanted to be careful so I washed the ES this morning as well. I used 3 oz of IGL Blizzard snow foam in my IK 1.5. Rinsed and dried the ES and patted down the engine bay. I must say the Adam's In and Out spray left a nice sheen on the plastic and rubber bits

Btw you'll see 2 tire mfg stickers...3 season and winter seasons rep'd, also I'm missing a Moonshiners sticker. I'll get one in about 3 weeks
