hairline scratches ...what to product and pad??

AG carries them: Cquartz Nano Coating, Car Pro Car Care Products, Iron X Iron Remover, Reload :dblthumb2:. I suspect a Tahoe will require the 50 ml bottle. Avi from CarPro (the mfg) recommends hitting the car with IronX prior to coating to remove embedded iron particles. This is particulary...

    Safe leather cleaner and conditioner?

Try the conditioner but don't bother with the cleaner unless you have leather that's very dirty, or you have light colred leather and want it on hand just in case. The Lexus recommended diltue Woolite works just fine at cleaning light to moderate dirt and spills. And, dust and very light dirt...

Not exactly. The abrasives are solids and will be wiped off. Mike noted that the products are created to have a synergistic effect. This would mean the non-abrasive components do not interfere with the next step and could actually assist.

Yup. The only time I've done it is prior to CQuartz, and only because Avi told me the components in modern polishes will interfere (my guess is the glycerine). Mike P notes that the chem engineers actually design the products to have a synergistic effect on the next step, especially within a...

Paging Richard Noggin to the car prep area.

I disagree on washing or wipe before wax or sealant. There is nothing in UC that will interfere with a wax or sealant. UC contains water, light petroleum solvents, glycerine and alumium oxide. Nothing there that will bother a wax or sealant. Perhaps the wash/wipedown thing goes back to a time...

I find it VERY HARD to argue with any of those choices. If you wanna add a sealant, I'd pick Menz Powerlock. If you wanna take an extra step and get a higher gloss finish, add some Menz 106FA Super Nano Finish or Wolfgang Finishing Glaze (virtually the same thing).

DISO - BISO - HISO or?

How about a generic ternm like JISO - Jack*ss Installed Swirl Option. That should cover every situation.

I'll second what CK says about Meg's UC finishing down very nice. I've used it on a couple GM cars and a Hyundai, just not a Honda. But if CK says it works great on a Honda, you can pretty much take that to the bank.

BobbyG has given you some great advice. I would suggest you go with either Wolfgang or Menzerna polishes. There's really not much diff since WG is made by Menz, although I do note that the WG Total Swirl Remover is not terribly aggressive and since you mentioned not wanting to do several...

    Meguiars Ultimate Compound vs M105

For UC: 15 - 20 lbs pressure, speed 6 on a PCXP, 6 - 8 section passes, last pass at lighter pressure (like 10 lbs) For UP: same pressure, same passes, speed 4.5 - 5 on a PCXP. No fillers or "oils"; it contains aluminum oxide, some light petroleum solvents, glycerine and water. Takes out very...

Very Light Swirls in NEW Subaru Paint.

Good luck. I was never happy with the results of hand polishing. Brings back bad memories that brought me here to get a DA.

What kind of paint do I have?

I don't use a machine to remove wax, I do it by hand. The waxes and sealants come off so easily that I view using a machine as a waste of time and effort.

Reaqdy to bite the bullet for opti coat 2.o

:iagree: I'd wash the car thoroughly with Power Clean to reveal any dealer installed swirls, inspect the paint and then decide how to proceed. At minimum I would gloss the paint using Menz PO85RD and then rewash with PC. Once you get the Opti-Coat on the car it's gonna stay that way for a...

What kind of paint do I have?

It really doesn't matter whether the clear is hard or soft. What matters is your technique. A hard clear will simply be a bit tougher to buff out - if you pick too light a polish it will require several passes. That's not the case with the Menz SIP. The Menz SIP will handle any kind of clear...

hairline scratches ...what to product and pad??

Yes it can be confusing to a new person. CQ is Cquartz - it's one of what I call the new "super sealants". They reportedly last for up to 3 years and are scratch resistant. I can say that the CQ is scratch resistant. My wife's car is an Obsidian Black ES350. Lexus black will hairline if you...

    Safe leather cleaner and conditioner?

If it's your Lexus, they recommend cleaning with a 10:1 solution of Woolite. I use it at 16:1, 10:1 was a bit too soapy. It does an excellent job. For a conditioner I recommend the Lexus conditioner. It's made by the company that makes the leather for Lexus. Since Lexus leather (except the...

What condition is the paint on your vehicles?

Both the RAV and Lexus would fall into the excellent category. The Lexus would be a hair out of show car because of light uncorrected orange peel, a few rock chips (it's a DD) and a few hairlines I was afraid to fully buff out (hey, it was only like my fourth time).
