First time with 85rd and DGPS...

I really want to say that I did, but I think it is subjective. A friend, who couldn't see the swirls in the car before the process began, also couldn't identify an improvement from the 205 to the 85rd step and further after the applicaiton of the DGPS. I do think that 85rd provided some more...

First time with 85rd and DGPS...

I've got the fuzion already. I just couldn't apply it. I've also got Liquid Souveran, Meg's #26, AutoGlym HD, Meg's Gold Class Paste, and a few other random waxes. Since I've got pics now, I'll try to get some comparison pics in the same/similar light after the fuzion. Hopefully I can get to...

First time with 85rd and DGPS...

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have an order all ready to go in my cart with Natty Red, the SSII (bogo), & MaxWax. Between my cars and the family/friend cars that I'm going to be 'helping out with', I figure that I might as well get a good supply to use on the various colors. I'm...

    Noob to leather

I've used Blue Magic, Lexol, and Leatherique. After using the Leatherique, I'll never use the others again.

Oh c'mon. 15 views and not ONE reply? I'm not fishing for compliments, I'm looking for feedback. Do you see something that I could do different? Do you have questions regarding my write-up? Is there a way I could take pictures that would better capture my results?

    2008 Lexus ES 300

I'm sure this wouldn't help word-of-mouth for your business, but as I said I'm not in the business of detailing cars. My reaction to him saying "it is a 2008, I don't need to" would have been something like... *rub hand against car* "Wow, not that you told the year of the car the particles...

First time with 85rd and DGPS...

I finally used these two products for the first time. The jury is still out and I'm going to have to each in other applications before I can make a really good judgement on either of them. That being said, here is an initial impression working on an 9 year old metallic silver caddy Deville...

    2008 Lexus ES 300

For 25 bucks, I wouldn't get out of bed. That being said, this is a hobby for me not a business. As a business... I'd point out swirl marks, RIDS, and any other imperfections. I would explain to him the steps required to make his car look as good as the picture. While giving the steps, I'd...

    Portable Tents?

I rent, I don't have a garage, I haven't been able to get a serious day on my car because of impending rain for the last 3 weekends. I'm considering going in this direction. I could also use this for tailgaiting. I assume the 10x12 would be large enough for comfort & access, but still...

Is that 02Blackout's car on their website?

    Fading paint on tail lights

Please don't take my last comment poorly. I'm a long time foxbody guy. I did an 89 Notchback conversion back in the day. Those painted areas don't come off. From the look of that picture, they need some serious attention. There are a few places that do sell the replacements, but you'd need...

    Fading paint on tail lights

Get yourself some LX tails, they look so much nicer than the cheese graters.

    Paint Correction?!

In 2 hours you want perfect paint correction? Not going to happen. Wash, dry, clay, tape.... then you've got maybe 30-45 minutes to correct the paint, clean, and apply a LSP? I think you need to reset your expectations considerably.

How does this look, I already have a Porter 7424

Get a kit with 5.5" pads and pick up another 6 pack of pads and at least a 6 pack of nice microfibers. Ditch the headlight restorer and pick up some 600, 1000, and 1500 grit sandpaper. Wet sand the headlights, buff & polish them, then seal them. Reapply the sealant regularly. (the sandpaper...

How long should it take for one person....

Fast, good, cheap... pick two. Like any project, detailing & paint work still follow the triangle. You want good work done cheap, it is going to cost you in time. You want good work and it to be done fast, you're going to pay for it. You want it to be cheap and fast... well, don't look at it...

Free Shipping = Guy on a Bicycle :-)

To be fair, I could only guess that they had 20-30 pallets of items to pick, verify, pack, label, wrap, and get to the truck... over a holiday weekend. If they got the shipment out by the 3rd, I wouldn't say that is too bad. My experiences with their shipping is that it ships, at the latest...

Will 5.5" pads work with the Flex 3401? *PIC*

I think a 3" pad might be even better... but not with a 5.5" backing plate :)

Will 5.5" pads work with the Flex 3401? *PIC*

The pad will work, however I wouldn't use that setup.

IPA to remove wax or sealant between polishes

It might be more expensive, but due to higher alcohol content, you'll want to go with the 120 minute vs the 90 minute.

    Detailing a boat questions

I think you made a wise decision, saved a friend and a nightmare of work. I think even 250 was being generous of you. His loss. :)
