I don't think it's that. There's really not that many of these marks on my truck and there not that noticeable unless the right light and angle hits it. They really do look like holograms but they don't look like distinct trails from a rotary like many pics I've seen online. I don't know...

I got got my dr colorchip in the mail today and the color looks pretty spot on. Should I first porter cable the etching with an orange pad and Menzerna Super Intensive polish or with scratch x and see what happens before applying paint. I really want to get rid of the white lines in the etching.

Looking at it at an angle you can see the clear coat is clearly gone. I do have a paintscratch clearcoat pen I could use after I apply dr colorchip to fill in the missing clearcoat. Not sure if it's going to make a globby mess though.

I haven't noticed it flake. About a years ago I tried scratchx by hand and I must have rubbed too hard and actually got red paint on my applicator.

Considering the rest of my paint job is in pretty great shape and you have this happen on a main focal point just sucks.
