Wow, great replies from you guys! Very humbling I must admit. I must stress that I in no way consider myself a pro. Just a guy who can lose himself for hours and hours in pursuit of that perfect shine. I especially appreciate the reminders about how many new tools and products and techniques are...
I'm sure there are lots of opinions about the point at which you step over the line from newbie to.....I guess competent experienced car detailer. But what is that line? I'd like to here some opinons, when did you stop being a Newbie? I personaly stopped considering myself a newb once I had...
Don't don't don't touch that sandpaper! take it from someone who made that mistake! You"ll burn through that factory clear way before you level any chip. My advice, fill those chips with what ever system you like, none of them will look perfect. If you want perfection you"ll need to have it...
Weather permitting i'll rinseless wash twice a week. If it's not forecast to rain that night i"ll do wash. I view it as maintenance for the paint + i really enjoy the process.

You don't need to sand OP out of the base coat at all my friend! Besides you should be spraying the clear within.....whatever the directions on the can say. you'll really only need to worry about OP in the clear. Just forsake most of the info online to start and use the directions at lease for...
Knowing everything you know now, if you had to restock your arsenal of detailing chemicals, pads, polishes, polishers, towels and gadgets completely from scratch, which ones would you absolutely must have and which ones would you definitely skip?
I have opti-coat 2.0 on my chrome wheels. I use a rinseless wash at-least once a week, super easy, 2-3 mins a wheel. Also check out Cquartz, its probably easier to apply.
