Lighting Your Work Garage -- How Much Light?

Who details the cars in the commercials?

Interestingly, my daughter is in the animation industry and she has told me any time you see a car in a commercial, there is no car there. The car companies want the video carefully controlled so they do it with computer animation. (Detailing takes on a different meaning in animation -...

    Liquid Souveran vs paste Souveran

As anecdotal evidence, it seems to me that Paste Souverain lasts longer. On the other hand, the spray is so easy to use after a wash that I use it much more than any other wax at this point and I put i on every month. The only time the longevity of the paste makes a difference to me is in the...

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Roger, Actually, the 500L is not a 500 at all. It is a Punto marketed in the US as a 500 because Fiat has spent a lot of money marketing the 500 in the US and they want to tie into that recognition. Just my $.02 worth! <TED>

    Diminishing Abrasives

M205 has been a go to product for me for some time. But it does produce a fair amount of dust. I got some Black Fire Polish (not the compound) and like it better simply because it doesn't produce a lot of dust. I did one of my cars with the BF product last weekend and didn't have any visible...

    Oops...first mistake... (Flex PE8 slipped)

That will require a body shop. I would not go to the dealer (and I am a former Mazda dealer). The dealer most likely subs it out. Find a good body shop and let them do the right thing. That won't be that expensive to fix properly. It's one small panel. <TED>

    DP headlight polish question

I use the purple thin wool pad described above on the backing plate described above on a cordless drill. Believe me, you will need all of that to get the job done. Having said that, though, it should get the job done too! Don't forget to do something to protect the lights when you are done...

    Matte Finish shine to Tires?

I can't say what is best because I can't represent that I have tried everything on the market. My favorite until recently was Adams tire dressing. It looks natural which is how I like it. I just tried out the new DP Tire Coating and was very impressed. (I bought a second kit already which...

First timer - Klasse AIO and SG

While it is not the only way to do it, many people who use the Klasse products have found that it is easier to apply the sealant from a spray bottle and to dampen the applicator before starting and periodically during application (I recommend a microfiber applicator, though others use other...

Credit card fees.... who's charging them?

It isn't a matter of legality in the sense of state or federal law. That is required by the credit card companies merchant account agreement (or, more specifically, the Visa or MasterCard rules that are incorporated by reference into the merchant account agreement). Having said that, there...

    I didn't mean to write a review!

Sure, but the question wasn't would you wash it, but would you wash it with a particular product (DP tire cleaner). The OP wasn't talking about a start over, he was talking about a top up. I think he (and certainly I) wanted to know if using the DP cleaner would take off the DP coating or just...

After use Clay on Rims, what to put ?

That would probably work fine. I have an old bottle of WOWA sealant that I have been using on the 8 rims for my BMW just to use it up. I've gone to Black Label Surface Coating for the wheels on my other cars. All work fine. The coating lasts longer, though. <TED>
