OPT is fine tuning their product, which they seem to do every 2+ years or so. I like that they continue to refine and tell us what was added or changed, but just MHO.
I've been using the USS for a while, it's not terrible at seeing dirt. I like the fact I don't need to let it soak in solution. I went back to using the BRS so I could see what I was pulling off the paint.
When IL first came out with his sponge, he said that one side had more scrubbing power. One of the influencers echoed the same. I assume changes to the sponge were made before actually marketing it to us. Then in “pimping” the sponge, we are told how ergonomic the sponge is and two colors so we...
Probably the same with Sepulveda Blvd. I always get a chuckle when people ask me how to get to "Supple Vida." It's pronounced seh-pull-vuh-duh. You know they are not from around here, lol.
I haven't been in for a very long time, but I haven't stopped detailing or my rampant addiction to instant detailers/spray waxes.
For phyisical and mental reasons, I been condensing down my detailing arsenal. Using either TRC's Gaunlet or Liquid8r, I'm currently using ONRv.5 plus a drying aid...
I was going to suggest CG's P40. It's a quick detailer with carnuba and looks good without streaks, when used sparingly. I don't think it lasts more than a week or two and it's a little cheaper. Having said that, OCW is my favorite.
+1.
I also use a chenile/dreadlock type mf mitt, one bucket, with grit guard, premisting with a qd dilution, on my DD. I wash once a week and have no problems, but as said, if the car is very dirty, I will hose off before using the rinseless.
The purpose of the vinegar is to help remove soap residue. I use it and it definitely makes a difference. Vinegar is also said to reduce hard water deposits and I have very hard water where I live. I can tell you my mf's end up much softer using the vinegar in the rinse.
One test I did for...
I've just started using CG's G-6 Hyper Coat. It's water based, extremely easy to apply and gives a nice shine. I'm not sure if its shine equals oil based products but it's not bad. Also cost may be a consideration if buying the gallon.
For very soiled MF's, I've been spraying a little Dawn Power Disolver, working it in and rinsing thoroughly then soaking in a 5 gallon bucket. Since switching to Micro-Restore, I just do a load of MFs with a vinegar rinse and they come out perfectly clean. I would think that a "quick" wash would...
Without throwing more wood on the fire. Since I just bought a bottle of V7 and since I'm now working about 4 miles from one of CG's warehouses, I drove over during lunch today and asked about V7 containing alcohol. I had 2 different guys tell me there was no alcohol in V7 ... if that can be...
OCW for me also. Recently, I've been experimenting/using CG P40 in between washing, etc. I just bought some V7 and after I finished reading the thread from OZD 35, I'm starting to wonder ... I need to get into the Forum more often. LOL
