I was reading about the Sonax Nano Coating a while back before deciding on another coating.
I think it's more of a Sealant than a true coating, for one it has a durability of up to 9 months.
I also beleive it's a step up from Sonax PNS which has a shorter durability, and again you'd loose the...
When you top up a product with another, you pretty much loose the characteristics of the bottom product (in this case your coating) and gain those of the top one (in this case your wax).
So Why put a coating on, if you want to top it up with Wax, instead of just waxing?
Besides, I'd be somewhat...
1- claying is a step all it's own and separate from compounding/Polishing.
AIO or all in one would be for Polishing & finishing. You'd still need to clay before this if the car needs it.
2-you'd use an IPA usually before applying Coatings to take out oils etc. so the coating can Bond with Bare...
(Hope I'm posting this is in the right forum.)
Don't know how Doable this is for those who run the tech side of the Forum (Our Man Yancy?) but if it is, :dunno:
How about adding a Thank you or Like Button under each post to save on unnecessary postings and at the same time being able to show...
It all depends on you,
A-If you like to "experiment" with different waxes, then with your total outlay by a few differnt waxes & "experiment".
B-If you are a collector and like the aesthetics of the packaging & how it sits in your Wax cabinet & not necessarily on the car, then indulge by all...
You got the 5.5" HT pads & the 4 3/8 BP which should be used for those pads.
Mike P states he likes the 5" Hybrids best, this doesn't mean you wont be happy with the pads you got. It's just that 5" Hybrids are apparently the best match for the Flex.
Couple of things to keep in mind:
If you...
Very Very Nice Tato, Like Night & Day. :props:
Happy New Year to you too.
BTW,
Kamakaz noticed you said the same exact thing, while I was typing, two guys thinking the same. :)
Actually as the Nanoskin line goes, the Glide is the luber to be used.
But you can use any lube you like, I used Dodo Born slippy and it was good enough.
Don't forget to break in the mitt on the Glass for about a minute before you start using it on the paint.
Re: Flex Precision Pads 1 inch 2 inch 3 inch
2 seconds sound right?
But I wonder about a 8mm throw on a 1" pad & a 7-8 pounds machine. :dunno:
& Tato,
Mike doesn't sell stuff, that'd be Nick. :)
As an alternative,
OP can buy a couple of, or one, Opti-seals @ AG, and have them or a buddy post it to him in a USPS priority small box.
Last time I sent a similar package to Australia, it cost ~ $12-14 if I remmember correctly and got there in a couple of weeks.
V&A,
the British Museum & vicinity,
Royal academy of Arts if they have a good exhibition,
Leicester Square & Soho (some good Dim Sum?),
Bond & Oxford streets, Portobello Road.
Don't forget Fish & Chips. ;)
I highlighted what I took as your main concerns.
First, I'm under the impression that you'd do this yourself, right?
If so,
A Coating will last much longer ( "with proper care") than a Sealant. Say a year or two vs a few months.
Second, there are many coatings that don't cost anything close to...
It would probably bring a higher value than a typical one due to:
1-Bert's signature
2-Mike's signature ;)
3-Low miles & condition
He may still be able to push it through the Barret Jackson's big event in JAN if the deadline hasn't passed,
anyways they'd probably be the best resource for him...
1-When you say last Nov, you mean last month or last year?
2-did they take it to bare metal or just sanded and resprayed?
3-Since you didn't mention it I suppose these were not pre-existing conditions @ the time of the repaint?
My thoughts:
1- If it was just last month, then it most probably...
