    Easier Sealant than CQuartz UK?

I put a coat of this on my wifes Black Acura TSX wagon before winter and it has held up great with very little work on my part. My only concern was i never felt like i got the timing quite right as far as how long to leave it on before buffing off. I was also VERY careful in the cleaning...

How to remove XMT 360 AIO?

Im not sure that's the case. The original question was how to remove XMT and the answer was its not that easy so either polish it off or skip it. Answers received and was going to skip it but just picked up some megs polish (also per advise) Ive regularly acknowledged that i wasnt going to...

How to remove XMT 360 AIO?

Thanks everyone for jumping in for the record i did know from the onset it was 1 step forward 2 steps backwards but hadnt realized it was that difficult to remove XMT. I know "good enough" is not the fight song for autogeek but i think i am just going to go ahead without any paint correction...

How to remove XMT 360 AIO?

I am a little confused by your response. You acknowledge my need for a properly prepped surface (in this case essential virgin) Then talk about using a different polish and stating that xmt 360 will not play a role in my application? no matter what the product used would need to get removed...

How to remove XMT 360 AIO?

I am going to try cQuartz UK Friday on the wifes TSX wagon so i need a Completely stripped surface for a good bond. I clayed this weekend and will be washing and using XMT 360 friday before the cQuartz. I know using an AIO instead of a dedicated cleaner isnt the optimum way to do this but its...

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

I thought redundency with minor overlap was the name of the game :) to be fair I only originally purchased the black hole, klasse, and BF black wax. All were chosen for their durability and polylimer base to hopefully all bond well to each other. I only wanted to have to start up from scratch...

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

i did a bit of searching last night and there was a nice test that someone did with black hole under various sealants on a pane of glass. It did not seem like the Black hole glaze had any effect on the OPs ability to strip off the sealant and he was using some pretty aggressive stuff like goo...

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

can i ask what makes you say that? i have used it on my two black cars at the beginning of summer and it seems to be holding up well. I also topped it with a paste wax and a spray wax every week or two so its hard to tell if it broke down or not since there are multiple layers on top of it.

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

Poorboys SR1 claimes no waxes or silica but there would still be something (now two things if i use black hole) between the paint and the sealant.

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

I dont nescasarily want this to turn into a "what should i use" thread but are there any VERY MILD swirl removers that you can think of that would would be sealant friendly? I have two black cars that are stored outside and see significant highway miles so swirls are unavoidable and if im going...

Conceptual Question about Sealents over AIO or Glaze

first of i am a budding detailing enthusiast and a habitual over thinker. It seems like i am getting conflicting information. The standard response when people ask about putting sealer over wax (im not asking) is that you want sealer to grab paint, a layer between would eventually deteriorated...

    Wax re-hazing after buff?

The "good = expensive" Blackfire wax didnt happen the first time i applied it over fresh (properly cured) Klasse sealant on either my own or my wifes car. Thats why i was extremely surprised to see it happen this weekend. The NXT that hazed up was 2-3 weeks old and frankly i thought it had...

    Wax re-hazing after buff?

NXT was an "update wax" Full process was glaze, klasse seal, blackfire about 2 months ago. Weekly-ish washes usually get a spray wax but that particular week i had a little more time so decided to do a "real" wax. Ill be stripping down and starting over before winter so that isnt in question...

    Wax re-hazing after buff?

A couple weeks ago i waxed my car with Mequires NXT 2.0 since i didnt want to use "the good stuff" and wanted a liquid wax not paste. Waxed very thin in shade anfter a proper wash, let haze, removed and buffed off with chemical guys MF towels and as the sun moved over the house and the car was...

Is Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover Right for my application?

I just wanted to circle back to close this thread. I ended up using the XTM360 on an orange hexlogic pad and it did a great job of getting the brushed aluminum look off of sides of the wagon. It was a very mild swirl remover and didnt even get rid of some of the water spot on the roof (had...

Is Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover Right for my application?

So I ended up with the XTM360 and will likely be giving it a shot next Wednesday. Is there a recomended # of passes on the DA? As a beginner i see this refferenced in how too's but no manufacturer seems to define. Ive used 6 passes on the poor boys glaze and Klasse sealant and figured...

Is Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover Right for my application?

Perfect, it sounds like what i should be going with. While it might be overkill, would it be too much to use the poor boys black hole glaze and then the Klasse sealer after? While i already have everything out and the time set aside I feel like i should use the other products i already have as...

Is Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover Right for my application?

Im new to the detail world and jumped in with both feet. Heres the scenario: My wifes Black TSX Wagon went through an auto wash that she has been through hundreds of times over the last decade and someone relatively close to before her must have been filthy and really dirtied up the pads...
