I prefer sheepskin for rinseless washing and don't recall ever using one of these for it, but I've never had an issue washing my vehicles with these sponges. And that's including my S2000 which had some of the softest clear I've ever worked on.
Not only that, but these merino wool mitts last about 100x longer than anything else I've used, so they're totally worth the money...especially the CarPro mitt.
I really like these for the money if you're open to using a sponge.
Lake Country Foam Car Wash Sponge, big blue wash sponge, lake country sponge, lake country grout sponge, car wash, shampoo
Similar to Opti Seal / Opti Coat, but not really. This stuff you actually buff off, and it buffs off quite easily. Opti Seal is intended to be wiped on and that's it - it dries on its own. Opti Coat does the same thing, but to a lesser degree IME. You'll have to come back with a towel and knock...
Yeah, I've been using APC almost as a regular thing now...I know I really shouldn't, but I've been doing so much driving and it gets so filthy in between washes. I'd rather let a stronger chemical do the work rather than scrub / mar the finish, and CQuartz is holding up to this without issue.
Re: Matt's C-Quartz Durability Update Thread
Been almost a month since I washed my truck, and the pictures below show it. Plenty of bugs, road grime, brake dust, etc.
I washed with 2-3oz of Optimum Car Wash and 3-4oz of Megs APC mixed in, with a boar's hair brush. Wheels got P21S Wheel...
