Turn off auto date/time in your settings and it will help quite a bit. I believe there is a glitch with this setting that will be updated soon.

The newer paints are different. I believed they "fixed" Jet Black somewhere around 2008 and it is now harder, but the 2006s had very, very soft paint - and it was only this particular color (other colors were much harder). I wouldn't recommend starting with #105 unless the paint was completely...

In almost any other situation, I'd agree. But the Meguiar's DA Microfiber system is intended for use on harder paint systems. It will not finish down nicely at all on BMW Jet Black from '06. The paint on those cars is so soft that it mars just by looking at it the wrong way.

The paint on that car, assuming it's like any other Jet Black 2006 BMW, is EXTREMELY soft. I've had good luck using Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0 to remove light defects and finish down quite nicely using green polishing/finishing pads. For your more moderate defects/scratches, I'd use...

Thought so...how have you been dude? Hopefully the gas stain has not fully eaten into the paint. Have you tried a stronger abrasive like Meguiar's #105? You could also use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound which is more "readily" available locally, by hand or machine.

I forget which year they "fixed" Jet Black but I think it was 2009 or 2010. Pretty sure 2008 still had the really soft Jet Black. I've used Wolfgang Finishing Glaze with GREAT results as a one-step on the softer paint. If defects are bad enough, don't expect great results with a one-step. But...

You guys with back pain should look into getting a foam roller or performing other kinds of soft tissue work. It really helps a lot. Better yet, look up an Active Release Therapist in your area and go for a few sessions. Addressing any imbalances will go a very long way, especially if you are...

That's what I would reach for. It's been awhile since I owned my C5 Z, but from when I did, I recall that product working quite well on the trim pieces.

Have you tried a product like Klasse All In One?
