I think in all honesty you have to be careful how much you correct a vehicle's paintwork. It comes down to so many factors like others have mentioned: paint thickness, paint hardness, age of vehicle, where it is stored, how it is cared for. My DD is a Fiat and unfortunately in my detailing...

+1 on Megs APC for me, foams but not too much (if you don't over-apply). I use at 4:1 for stubborn soiled areas and 10:1 for light cleaning. I have to agree with the smell but I find it doesn't linger too long. Still wanting to try APC+.
