Opti-Seal, BFWD or just stay with Colly 845??

Hi everyone Just wanted to ask opinions from anyone who has compared opti-seal and bfwd in terms of durability and which one sheets more effectively. My local online detailing store has just stocked up on opti-seal and BFWD (both 2012 new versions). I have always used Colly 845 but I want a...

    Collinite 845 Vs. Blackfire wax

I'm glad I stumbled upon this. I LOVE Colly 845 but been dying to get my hands on a sealant. Cape Town's weather is a lot like California (I'm guessing just by being coastal) so we'll get a spit of rain and the sun will come out. I love the beading of 845 but I invariably have problems with...

    Optimum Opti-Seal - New & Improved!

Does anyone know how to tell if you have the new version? I want to pick some up from my local detailing store and want to be sure I get the new one! Thanks!

    Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt

Opie_7afe I have to agree I never trusted the CD test. Not all cd's are made equal as well and we'd need a standard for testing. I wonder what a true test can be for a wash mitt besides getting your hands on a test panel. Bought my Megs Mitt last week and all I can say is WOW. I have never used...

    Really needing help !!

Hi Pontiacfan I run a small sideline detailing business for extra cash like yourself. I really think you've got the right idea when it comes to your process. One major thing you can do to really help with your timing and results is to maybe offer full interior detailing as a separate service...

    Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System

I'd definitely go for 4. I found two sufficient for one car but IME if the vehicle you're working on is quite old and contamination has reached deep into the clear the pads will get quite dirty. I once worked on a VW polo that had not been well taken care of and after claying (sometimes twice...

    Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt

Thanks so much everyone for your great replies! I have seen some conflicting reviews (even a UK online detailing store) saying that it wasn't paint safe and should only be used for wheels (crazy right?) and you have all helped show me the light. Can't wait to get mine and get washin'...

    Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt

Hi guys Just wanted to ask if anyone here has any experience using the Megs Microfiber wash mitt? Model X3002 (the one AG sells). It's the only high quality wash mitt I can get in my country and I'm seeing some contradictions as to its safety. Some posts have it failing the CD test while...

12 Panel LSP Durability Test. Weekly Updates

Thanks so much for doing this! Subscribed and waiting patiently for the outcome! I'm a fan of 845 but it would be good to see how the others fare. I would def like to see m21 v2 if you ever get your hands on it in future, wanting to buy but can't find much on its durability. Thanks again!

Hi from a detailing noob in South Africa

Hey Lawrence Welcome to the forum! :xyxthumbs: Glad to see a fellow South African on the (IMO) best detailing forum on the net! I have truly learnt so much from many experienced people here, that I would not be the detailer I am today if I had not joined. Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Cleaning Meg's DA Microfiber pads - Dried M105

Hi guys While the Meg's DA microfiber system has worked brilliantly for me, on a recent job I had used M105 and one of my cutting discs for compounding (hard VW paint) and after the job I got sidetracked and didn't soak my pads immediately. Now after cleaning the pad with APC diluted for pad...

How many swirls and marring can you live with?

And here I thought "maybe I shouldn't say what car I have" Yes indeed I do... Quite a popular car in my country. For some reason we got some of the models that don't break down ALL the time :) I need to upgrade to a panel van for my business but in the meantime its storage space is ideal...

How many swirls and marring can you live with?

I think in all honesty you have to be careful how much you correct a vehicle's paintwork. It comes down to so many factors like others have mentioned: paint thickness, paint hardness, age of vehicle, where it is stored, how it is cared for. My DD is a Fiat and unfortunately in my detailing...

    Best Carpet Shampoo

+1 on Megs APC for me, foams but not too much (if you don't over-apply). I use at 4:1 for stubborn soiled areas and 10:1 for light cleaning. I have to agree with the smell but I find it doesn't linger too long. Still wanting to try APC+.

    Dual action or rotary polisher

Hi surajprasade So far I only use a DA on jobs with Meg's DA microfiber system, which (in most cases) has saved me the upgrade to a rotary polisher. It works wonderfully on most paint types except the super hard german clearcoats which require a second pass and even slower arm speed. I...

    SONAX products

I bought Sonax Xtreme Wax 1 Full Protect (paste) a few months ago. Have used it a few times: application is a total breeze but solvents might leave some wax holograms if applied too thick. The finish is deep and darkened but durability definitely not on par with Colly 845/476/915. Durability...
