So I decided to do a 12 panel LSP test. I am using a bumper from a pontiac grand am for this test. The bumper was washed then clayed with ClayMagic Blue. After it was prepped I Used the PC7346 And OPT Compound II via 5.5" orange flat (speed 6). Then followed that up with OPT Polish II via 5.5" White Flat(speed 4.5). Finished with Menzerna PO85RD via 5.5" gray flat(rotary). the bumper has a ton of etched in bug guts that would not come out they are past the clear coat and into the basecoat there is no helping it. However, it will do for the sake of a durability test. After polishing was done i did a prep wipe down with some mineral spirits and taped up the panel. The Following Waxes And All In One's were tested; Optimum Car Wax, Xmt360 Spray Wax,Xmt360, Optimum Poli-Seal, Meguiars A1214 Cleaner Wax, Meguiars Nxt 2.0, Meguiars Gold Class Plus, Meguiars Mirror Glaze #20 Sealant, Meguiars Mirror Glaze #16 Paste Wax, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, Wizards Shine Master(fresh paint safe "sealant"), And Finally Collinite Insulator Wax #845. I will go on to say this bumper will remain outside 24/7 and is in an area where there is sun through some of the day. It will be washed Once a week using XMT soap. Now On To the pictures.

Before We Get Started On The Important Pictures I Will Show a 50-50 Of The 3 Step Polishing. The white line marks where I used xmt360 via white flat before polishing to show what it can do(was 3 passes medium pressure like i would do for an AIO detail).

Hope this thread helps others in decisions to buy certain waxes!, once i get more waxes i will add more places. I have the bottom of the bumper with no polishing or waxing done to it as the control of this test.

That's great. Thank you for taking the time to do that, and do it right. By spring time it will give me hard data on what to use on my car. Big thumbs up! Spiney

Subscribed for updates - thanks for putting this together and sharing with us :)

My money is on Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant!
That stuff won a sealant test a couple years back I saw on another site.

i bet 845 or m16 will outlast all ;) but thanks for the kind words guys! i do this stuff to benefit me and everyone else here. im also betting on the wizards shine master will only last a week. btw look for the how to make a pressure foamer thread later on today.

I believe the results are going to be close to this, but if your looking fot durability its already known colli waxes along with DG, fk1000p and klasse are on the upper tiers.

i like to do tests my own way, im aware of what people say but i want a true test using a real panel with real automotive paint, sure wont be getting driven around and getting road grime on it but will work. helps to have pictures of it also to show what difference(if any) it has with the paint

Its going to be hard to tell the differences in looks because the test areas are so small. You usually need much larger areas like half a car to notices the optical differences on the contours and angles of the body.

One word of advice if you are doing testing. The panel should be washed routinely and not just left to set. LSP's degrade not only from being exposed to the elements but to constant washes, qd/waterless wash wipedowns and abrasion from driving so in the least the first two should be factored in. Ive personally done a few of these tests myself but between lsp's and their need or lack there of for a clean oil free base.

in my OP it states it will be getting weekly washes/rinseless as thats when i will be taking pictures for updates.

Matt,

Thanks for putting this test together!! :props:

Subscribing; great test thanx for doing this.

Is it me or maybe the section of the bumper you used, but the Megs cleaner wax looks really good?

that part of the bumper is where it went from having tons of etched in bug guts/sand blasted dirt to nice and smooth no below clear defects, most likely that's what it is or could be the angle, most of them look about the same to me.

Thanks so much for doing this! Subscribed and waiting patiently for the outcome! I'm a fan of 845 but it would be good to see how the others fare. I would def like to see m21 v2 if you ever get your hands on it in future, wanting to buy but can't find much on its durability.

Thanks again!
