You'll want to make sure your alternator is covered. Anything thats electrically powered should be covered. As long as you are careful and arent spraying water all over your motor you should be okay.

Maybe I will go with paraffin and just melt it into the seat. That should provide full protection.

Meguiars Plastx Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish - clean & polish all clear plastic panels and convertible top windows. I used PlastX on my monitor stand which is a black piano finish. It worked really well took some elbow grease but it came out nice.

They have a few different clay kits you can get over the counter. The Meguiars one is good. Never used the mothers clay.
