    Hard or soft paint

Thanks Abrcrombe, i found out the hard way with the Nissan. I screwed the paint up pretty bad. The worst was my Suzuki bike, gorgeous liquid looking red, just looking at it with the wrong attitude would scratch it though.

    Hard or soft paint

In general japanese cars have a softer clearcoat. I know my old Maxima, a '95 was either very soft or not clearcoated. I've read some manufacturers don't CC black cars. Toyota was mentioned specifically. My car now ('04 BMW) is much more durable. It's Silver Grey Metallic. You could try having a...

I think most of them are ... "don't know- don't care" They would also consider spending anything more than 12 bucks for a "detail" a waste of money.

Giant softball sized crack in windshield!!!!

I think there's a chance of the glass shattering if there's enough damage. A jolt from a pothole or something similar could trigger the breakage. The windshield is a structural element of the car. Just a thought to give you a heads up.

Giant softball sized crack in windshield!!!!

They say bad things come in sets of three... so you won't have anymore windshield issues. Seriously, sorry about the bad luck. At least you weren't hurt. It sounds like it could have caused a bad accident. Do you have to pay for the windshield? Here in MA we have no copay for glass. (the only...

    Odor elimination & PC tips

Is there a commonly available deodorizer that will get cigarette odor out of a car? I'll be selling a car that was lent to a family member and have to clean it up. I'll also be using this car for practice w/ my first PC. I've read the sticky post tips for the PC. If there is some tip that is not...

New (used car) need some advice.

There are kits available at different suppliers. Cheap wax will turn out to be a time waster. Wax, even a good one, does not last that long. Buy one of the better ones and you'll do less work and enjoy the look more. Wax is a battle and requires constant maintenance that's why the more...

    California duster

The duster? No, i'm pretty sure you should not ever wash it. The package says the performance improves w/ age. Shake it out vigorously after use and store it in the pouch.

    California duster

The duster is coated with paraffin wax. Before you use it the instr. say to set the duster on newspaper overnight(i think, not sure how long) to absorb the excess. This excess wax is what causes streaking.
