    WG Total swirl remover 3.0

Cleaning the pad after the panel is a good practice and a CHOICE. Some use one pad per panel and never reuse that same pad during a detail. Others may use one pad per 1/2 car and so on.. and so on.. For myself, I clean the pad after every panel with a pad washer. It allows me to gauge the...

Amazing work... I wonder how close the owner was to having it repainted before your work?

    WG Total swirl remover 3.0

Agreed. Make sure you are cleaning your pad after each panel. A Nylon brush or run the DA and use a microfiber towel to break up the caking.. Remember, if you don't clean the pad, it's like applying a second amount of product to the same panel without wiping it off first. Keep it clean my friend.

    WG Total swirl remover 3.0

I've used this product many times.. It has a tendency to dust quickly. I've found that after 2 section passes, I have to spritz with water to reactivate the product to comlete 4 passes. Try pre moistening the pad before you apply the next bit of product.

    Polishes! How to chose??

I've used m205 with a variety of LC CCS pads and flat pads with success. The Wolfgang Swirl remover is a good product but dust abit to much for me some times(The new stuff is made by Menerna, so that might have changed) Menzerna has a great compliment of polishes that can meet your needs with a...

When compounding with say 105....how many times do you reload per panel?

Too funny. what's interesting is that my comments about the test section came from Mike's class 3 years ago at Detail fest. I'll never forget him saying let the test area dictate your approach to the car..Kudo's to Mike for being consistent 3 years later.

When compounding with say 105....how many times do you reload per panel?

I normally use 4-5 section passes. The first 3-4 are with pressure. and the last 1-2 with light to no pressure allowing the pad to spin and work the remainder of the product. Since 105 is a non diminishing product, make sure you wipe the panel clean before reloading the pad with new product or...

    Go to Compound/Polish combo.

Yes you are correct. Let me revamp my statement. They changed the formula to support DA and random orbitals. Originally it could only be used with rotary buffers. It's chemically similar but added non-diminishing abrasives to reduce the need for the high speed passes to achieve the same...

    Go to Compound/Polish combo.

Meg 105/205.. To me, they got it right years ago.. The formula is still the same.. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Can't say the same for some other products.

    pads for a rotary?

You can pickup a nylon brush at autozone or most automotive stores. As for the dewalt 849, It's a great machine.. Most people use DA's given the lack of knowledge with using a Rotary or that the newer DA's deliver similar results as a Rotary with less chance of burning..If you learn how to use...

Nissan Murano One Step - TLC Auto Detail

(Next the vehicle was foamed with a mixture of Meguiars Gold Class and Optimum OPC to loosen and remove as much dirt and debris as possible) Can I assume you added the OPC to help strip the older wax in preparation for claying?

Headlight sealant: spar urethane vs. opti coat 2.0

Can someone comment on the drying time of the spar mixture. I've seen 45mins mentioned just recently, but that was in regard to applying a second coat. I'd also like to know if may of you are going to 3000grit as a final wetsand? I'm finding that 2000 grit is not fine enough unless I polish...

    Wax for white car

PS21 is my vote for white cars. Great results and it's somewhat price friendly compared to other waxes in it's class.

    Do I need to tape?

Taping is a choice in my opinion.. Think of it this way, you are compounding the paint, not the trim, glass, mirrors or emblems. I find that depending on the pad selection, you may end of edging parts of the car that you did not intend to. Taping also allows forgiveness when crossing split...
