    7424XP or Cyclo

You are correct that the pads cost less. Since I don't have a Cyclo I did not know they had dedicated pads. Sorry for my ignorance. I stand by the rest of my statement. It is a great tool for a first time machine owner.

Full Interior Steam Cleaning 2006 Ford Explorer "Grime" Package

"Grime" Package is an understatement. Nice job! It isn't perfect but what a great improvement. I agree with Fredcandetail, the Folex probably would have helped you even more. And a good practice is to try more than one product if you have lingering stains\grime. I'm also not a fan of the racing...

    Anyone tried this?

Vinegar is awesome. I use it as an aftershave, two drops in my morning coffee, to clean my glasses, in my laundry to remove stains, in my salad (oh, I really do that one), to clean my driveway, it works as an aphrodisiac, keeps my playing cards from sticking together. I could go on and on but...

    Throw me a Bone!!...Please!

Call every one of the customers you did work on during that busy 6 week period. Ask them how their car is looking. Tell them you are running a special (make something up). How about winter preventive service? Get busy all over again with your existing customer base. While also building on the...

    Quick questions

Welcome to the forum! Try using a blower on the windows. You can even use a wet-vac to blow in there. Also, roll the windows yourself, then dry with MF towel. There should not be much, if any, lubricant in the doorjams. Clean it up if it's there. Only a very little on the hinge and closer. Wipe...

using a drill as a polisher

Drills are a bit bulky and not really designed ergonomically for polishing an entire car. Also, take a look at the rpms compared to your polisher.

    question about payment

Getting paid upfront doesn't feel right, to me. Given that you have the vehicle as security for the payment you should be ok. Except, as mentioned, in cases where there are extenuating circumstances like the customer is not available after.

Paint, Soft or Hard, by Make

I hear a lot about how soft, or hard, paint is. I couldn't find a thread about this subject and thought it would be good to put it all in one place. So, generally speaking, what vehicle make has hard, or soft, paint? Also, how does clearcoat factor into this? Thanks.

Hood getting a Makeover this Week

I'm looking forward to some pics and a review of Dr.C. There are many of us that need it. For the small areas, unless you get smaller pads, and maybe a smaller machine, you are forced to do it by hand. Good luck!

A Lil Free Publicity From The Newspaper

That's a good tip. You are correct, almost all newspapers will print press releases. You could release a new service every quarter and get your name in the paper 4 times per year.

    How Far Does Paper Go???

I did both of my headlights (see my avatar). They weren't horrible but needed some help. I used the 3M kit which came with 500, 800, and 3000 Trizact. I used one 3 inch circle of each grit per light. If you get one sheet of 500, 800, maybe 1500, and 3000 you will be all set. I also used M105 and...

Seriously need help: How to remove these stony chips

That looks like my car. Even the color seems to be the same. Best option so far for me seems to be Dr. Colorchip but I have't gone there yet. Trying to decide between that and a repaint.
