dsms detail - Dull Acura, Restored!

Thanks guys. Learning rotary is not very difficult. Get yourself a good machine and some scrap panels and get to work. After a little bit you will really get the hang of it, once you experience it your going to be like "I cant believe I waited so long"

dsms detail - Dull Acura, Restored!

50/50 After polishing the extreme cut at 1500rpm, defects removed with slight hologramming I then followed up with the cyclo using yellow polishing pads, I can work much larger areas with the cyclo not having to tape off edges and breaking panels into 2 parts working the 1 step polish...

dsms detail - Dull Acura, Restored!

This one was in pretty bad shape. The owner called me and said his paint was "dull" and asked if I could bring back the shine. I said the only way to fix dull paint is with machine polishing and that no wax or sealant will bring back the true finish of the paint unless its fully corrected and...

After the dash I went back to apply the LSP to the car. I used Gloss It Gloss Finish sealant after applying the concourso polish. I used the Gloss Finish with a red pad and polishing pal. I used 2 coats and let it cure for about 10mins. The tires were dressed with another gloss it...

dsms detail - MR2 Turbo, the swirly comeback**

Some before and after shots of correction The engine (not trunk) area needed compounding, the extreme cut on orange pads worked very well after 2 passes the finish was about 95% perfect. The beauty of the cyclo is that you can really lay on the pressure to polish out those deeper...

dsms detail - MR2 Turbo, the swirly comeback**

Always had a thing for the MR2, this one isnt my style in particular but it's still a terrific car and quite the bandit around a race track. This MR2 in not a DD at the moment and usually spends it time in a garage, but it being over 15 years old it has its share or wear and tear. One with the...

Yep this car was pretty neglected, wish I could have fully corrected it as well. That would have brought out the gloss even more! Thanks Emile! I hate working on a tight schedule but every once in a while its good to push yourself a bit. :D

    detail question

Use wool pads only when necessary. The rotary's power is able to achieve excellent correction work and full removal of swirl marks using a foam pad which is less aggressive than the wool. If your starting out with a rotary use smaller sized medium cut foam pads first to get a feel for the...

The LSP of choice was Gloss It Gloss Finish sealant x1 applied by the cyclo polisher using white finishing pads. Cure time is about 10mins, I just went around the car applying the Gloss Finish to each panel and by the time I finished it was about time to go and buff it off I followed up with a...

This one needed quite a bit of work, unfortunatley the owner did not want any correction or polishing done to the car and needed it back the same day. The A8 arrived at my house around 8am Sunday. It was a chilly 50degree morning here in NJ that day...the last car I worked on was in 80+degree...

Mercedes CLS 63 AMG :: Black Gloss

This car did not have "that" and what you are referring to is called a clear bra (a protective film usually seen on 1/2 the hood and lower panels as well). I polish the clear bra very carefully using the cyclo as to not generate to much heat. I always tape off the film's edges to prevent ripping...
