i have purchased a makita rotary lately and i am trying to remove the swirl mark on the car. would that be ok to use the wool pads that came with the package? and is that a idea to use meguiar 83 and follow by meguiar 9?

Use wool pads only when necessary. The rotary's power is able to achieve excellent correction work and full removal of swirl marks using a foam pad which is less aggressive than the wool. If your starting out with a rotary use smaller sized medium cut foam pads first to get a feel for the machine than move up to heavy cutting wool.

if foam is a better choice, which pads will fit on the 7" hook n loop that came with the package? should i start with the lighter wool pad (since there are two in the package) and finish with a foam pad (meguiar 8006)?

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but have you ever used a rotary? From your very basic questions it doesn't appear so. You can do a lot of damage if you dont know what you are doing.

i had try it on one of the panel, it seems to be a little better however i could not get all the swirls out of it.

how can you tell if the polish has broken down? should i mist the wool pad with little water?

I would suggest two things before you start using a rotary polisher on your vehicle

1. Get as much information as you can on rotary polishers / pads

2. Obtain a scrap vehicle panel and practice, practice, practice, until you're confident in using it and only then start using it

There are mamy How-To's and videos available on rotary use
