Stick to dedicated QD (No, QDs dont have waxes in them)... or ONR is the 2nd best alternative available. Don't use Soapy water as it will eat up your clay bar earlier... clay will start to break apart...

The poster infact was unsure that either the said product is SMAT or DAT. The end zone was that i told him that its SMAT and how DAT is different from SMAT. Secondly, if monkeys could play with DAT products so easily, i don't find any reason why Meguiar's came up with SMAT(More user friendly)...

No. It won't. The reason is that both are different steps meant for different objectives, without a doubt that cleaner wax overlaps the clay (to some extent) when used standalone. But the primary purpose of cleaner wax is to remove or improve fine swirls, scratches and other minor surface...

Thats exactly what i do (in fact every detail geek does so). In my case i keep ONR at QD dilution in a detail spray bottle along with fresh MF always ready under the passenger side seat :)

My advice is to apply Cleaner wax. This will clean the slight etching into the clear which might have appeared, but may not be visible to the naked eye easily, and also providing the protection.
