Honda Civic Opti-Guarded since 2009

To certain extent, usually I keep a bottle of Opti Clean and a clean MF in car at the trunk. Whenever there is bird poop, I will use it to wipe off ASAP.

The above mentioned ONR in the trunk idea is smart. OC/OG will protect against bird bombs better than any other coating as far as my research shows. There are numerous reports where the bird bomb outline showed initially but then faded after being exposed to the sun. I get them off quickly in my own case, so I've never had an outline left to test that situation.

OP->Thanks for following up and being your word! Even though OC's strength is in sheeting more than beading, I believe it's evident that the protection is still going strong!

Thats exactly what i do (in fact every detail geek does so). In my case i keep ONR at QD dilution in a detail spray bottle along with fresh MF always ready under the passenger side seat :)

LoL I wouldn't say "every". Some of you guys are just OCD wayyyy to much. Evey once in a while I see bird pop on my car, I might not get to it that day, maybe some other day in the week. When I do, spray a little Mothers Showtime or Spray Wax, cleans off like it was nothing. No etching, no nothing. Just depends on how long you leave it unantended, and the type of wax/sealant you have under. My 2 cents.

The big thing for our weather here is actually water spots etchings, especially during rainy season. It rains now, and hours later the sun is strong as usual and the water residue dries up fast and etchings can happen sooner than expected.

That's a very good testament to the quality of our coating. Thank you for sharing! I expect to see more of these type threads since we have been gradually coating more and more cars and owners see the durability with no falling away of attributes. On beading, anyone who has used Opti Coat, NRWS (No Rinse Wash & Shine), NRWW (No Rinse Wash & Wax) and/or Opti Clean will notice that the look is consistent with the coating; while the waterless and rinseless products do have some beading (looks more like flat bottomed "wax kind of nearing the end of it's life" beads. Your results are consistent with what I have seen regardless of my wash choice. I have used Optimum Car Wash, Optimum No Rinse, Dawn, Power Clean, LA Totally Awesome, and a slew of other products on my Altima and still had that type of beading after 3+ years before I had to repaint due to an accident.

Hi Chris,
I had a repeat customer come back with his vehicle a week and a half ago for a maintenance wash and interior detail. This vehicle was one of the first I ever did with Opti-Coat:
From OPT Direct
Transaction Date: December 22, 2010
Transaction ID: 5FC68199FA525692T
Subject: Opti-Coat
and the coating was still holding up STRONG!
He uses gas station touchless car washes (I told him if he has to do automated car washes,it's better than the touch washes to help prevent marring/scratching) and them washes use very strong cleaners up here in the Midwest to help clean salt films from road salt in the winters.
He did have some paint defects that I will be touching up in the spring, but It was good to see how well the OC was performing.

Yes Chris, glad that I chosen to coat the ride with Opti Coat since the very first month back in 2009 when I first got the car, detailed it and coated it. Will do a comparison further when I get NRWW on hand soon.
