    Flex L3403 Lightweight short review

Jrt81, I've never had a pc so I can't compare the sound levels of the two. I love the 3403, it's easy to handle and it'll get any job done if you use 6" or smaller pads. I want to try the Meguiar's 7 inch soft buff pads but I'm waiting on someone to review the 3403 with them first. I might just...

    Flex L3403 Lightweight short review

One more thing is that it can't handle large pads. I haven't bought new Meguiar's 7" soft buff 2.0 pads with mine yet because I want to hear feedback from someone who has already tried it on their 3403. When I used large 8" pads on mine the body would get hot. Derrick

    Flex L3403 Lightweight short review

The only thing I don't like about the 3403 is that it is LOUD. Use hearing protection if you don't want to go deaf. Derrick

This is how my car was returned to me by the dealer

I think many of them do it on purpose so they can sell you a new car without swirls and give you the DISO at a later date. It's probably written in the contract like, 'All maintenance vehicles will receive a FREE car wash'. Derrick

    Wheel cleaner Vs. Degreaser

Aluminum is highly reactive to strong acids so if you use acid type cleaners be sure to dilute it to the recommended ratios and complete one wheel at a time. In the self serve car wash industry the wheel cleaner and the degreaser are USUALLY the same product just diluted to different ratios...

    The Dangers of Detailing!

Petrol, I think you need a respirator that reduces chemical vapors, like the ones designed to be used in a spray booth. 3M has those too, so just go to a 3M distributor and tell them your problem and they should be able to get the correct one for you. Derrick

Help with selecting respirator and ratings

Just go to a 3M supplier which is usually an automotive paint store and they should have it. If they don't just ask the salesperson and they should be able to order it or tell you where you can get it. Tell them to order both so you can try them on. Other than that you can go to Lowe's and get...

    The Dangers of Detailing!

When polishing paint you need a mask that stops particles. Organic masks are used to stop certain chemical vapors that are emitted from acidic and alkaline based products. They may not effectively protect you from particles. I wrote about the masked I used earlier in this thread. Just read...

    The Dangers of Detailing!

Just google the cutting agent in the polish you are using. One of the most popular is aluminum oxide. Here's an article on aluminum oxide. http://nj.gov/health/eoh/rtkweb/documents/fs/2891.pdf There are many more just do some research. Derrick

LOL! That a good way to look at it. I missed that one so I had to respond. Some STD's you can get a shot and it'll be gone, but unfortunately this is like being with a person with HIV. It will make your life very uncomfortable and short. Derrick P.S. No disrespect to the persons with HIV...

    The Dangers of Detailing!

KLRPilot, I am glad you are using it! The sad thing about detailing is that too many detailers don't think about the stuff that's in the products they use. Some high end polishes have abrasives that are used to polish glass to a super clean, precise gloss. If those polishes can polish glass just...
