Flex L3403 Lightweight short review

One more thing is that it can't handle large pads. I haven't bought new Meguiar's 7" soft buff 2.0 pads with mine yet because I want to hear feedback from someone who has already tried it on their 3403. When I used large 8" pads on mine the body would get hot.

Loud? How much louder than a PC?
What do you think of the 3403 overall?

I only have the Hydrotech 6.5", and maybe I will get some more of those in the 5.5".

So i think I'm pretty safe with the pad sizes, correct?

Looks like I'm leaning more & more to the 3403.

I've never had a pc so I can't compare the sound levels of the two. I love the 3403, it's easy to handle and it'll get any job done if you use 6" or smaller pads. I want to try the Meguiar's 7 inch soft buff pads but I'm waiting on someone to review the 3403 with them first. I might just buy some and try them just to see BUT I hate wasting money on something that might not work. Decisions, decision, decisions!

Just a little up date as far as the light weight and answer the question of how loud is the Da .First off i used the light weight last night on the MG we did for the extreme makeover.I beat the sh----t out of that machine useing wool it kept up with me but got alot hotter then when i was using the Makita or DeWalt but again i was using the machine really hard.As far as the noise level of the Flex DA yes if i used it all the time i would wear some form of ear plugs it has a drone too it i work around all types of air tools so i know when something has a certain pitch to or a sound too it that you should use ear protection.Actually any use of a power tool not matter what it is you should protect your eyes and ears you only have two of each and it's to easy to damage them.
 
Max pad size for the 3403 Rotary is 6.5 inch pads. Anything bigger and it over-loads the transmission. If I were buying the Flex Rotary, I would just stick to 5 inch pads and 3 or 4 inch pads for spot-buffing.

We used up too a 7" pad no problems at all and can use a 6.5 foam pad also.Remember the whole KMB with the Pc and how some said it over worked the machine and it does.So i think no matter what we say or done there someone out there that does it his way that's life and forums LOL

Harleyguy, thanks for clarifying the sound issue.
I should be prepared now as to how loud that machine is when I get it.
Looks like I will be pulling the trigger on the 3403.
One more thing Harleyguy, you've also tried the Flex DA, right?
How much smoother is the 3403 vs the 3401?
And which is louder, the 3403 or the 3401?
I am not worried about heating up issues right now because I only have the 6.5" Hydrotechs and some 5.5 flat ones.
