Where is our resident chemist FUNX725? I'm sure he could comment on the alkaline salt bit. I've always used a dedicated leather cleaner to be on the safe side. Detailing is just a hobby for me so I use the pinnacle leather combo for cleaning and conditioning and I'm very happy with it.
