My idea of "properly" washing a motorcycle is removing all fairing parts, the seat and gas tank. Anything less is not detailing. I don't just concentrate on the parts of the motorcycle that are in view.

You missed the cavities in the spokes and in the hub. I used Swish Facto AT34 to get all the caked on grime off the back sides of these 20 year old wheels. This is a commercial product.
