    1992 Acura NSX Paint Correction

Great job. That thing is dripping wett. That car was so far ahead of it's time. Really, the last time Acura was ahead of Lexus in design, IMO.

    First paid job done

Great job. And that's how it all starts. One great detail leads to another, then another, and then your name gets out there. I hope you made some money.

Need a STRONG OTC wheel cleaner..

Try 0000 steel wool with the Megs APC. Wear rubber gloves if you have them. Scrub hard.

    Marketing help

This is the absolute truth. Look at your competition. How busy are they? What do they charge? Where's your skill level compared to theirs? Do you have different levels/packages? People like choices. Have something for every budget. Entry-level package with a basic exterior wash, mid-level...

Is the real money in lower end detailing??

A month old?!?! A month....like 30 days? Did u start detailing for the love or for the money? If its for the money you might need to give you business model a little more time. Start with enjoying what you do, get into your work, become really good.....the money will follow. Focus on what...

Is the real money in lower end detailing??

I guess it does depend on what you consider a 'full detail', because theres hardly ever a time I spend 6-8 hrs on a full detail. To say there's no way to do it in less time unless they're cutting corners is absurd at best and condescending at worst. You have no idea how hard any other detailer...

    My Journey begins here

Good job, not bad. I use the same pads, and from the looks of it you may be using too much M105. Also, I got better results when I SLOWED the speed down on the Flex 3401 to 3-4 and went really slow. Finished out really nice. Good luck.

The Last Detail: '02 Firebird Paint Correction

Great job! That's impressive. I know what you mean when you say you get lost in the job. Time flies when you get in the zone. Get the 3401.

    What I've Learned (Warning: Long)

After replying to a post and attempting to offer advice, I thought it may be helpful to other's starting out in the detail biz if I shared my story and laid out a list some products used and why they're my fave. This is just what works for me. Do what you want with said advice. TO BEGIN: I...

Can I Start a Home Service Detailing Business with this Tools?

SORRY FOR USING ALL CAPS, JUST WANTED TO BE EASIER TO READ MY REPLIES. I went thru a phase thinking "boutique" products were better than regular. not necessarily true. I didn't need specialized products, I needed products that were versatile. They could do many things. Meg's APC+ I can use on...

    Soaps

Tried a lot....stuck with CG Glossworks. Unreal foam, slick-icity is unparalled. It codts a few Washingtons, but worth it.

Detail for Charity... well, kinda. Trashed Toyota Avalon - Corrected and Coated.

Great job! Wow, that was impressive. And you're being too modest when you say it's not perfect. How much time did you spend on it? (Sorry if you already stated that).

    The Power of Steam

Great job on the door. I'm waiting to see that center console. Cruuuuuuusty. I use those plastic dental picks to lift out debris in those cracks and crevices.

I Need To Invest In A Bio-hazard Suit

First of all, great job. Second, you need to invest in a carpet extractor. While the Little Green Machine is ok, it takes FOREVER to complete jobs. I bet you emptied and filled that thing at least 7 times. My attitude, and bottom line, improved after I started putting "Starting at..." in my...

Post Your DIRTIEST Claybar Before/After Shots!

Uh, you can achieve dirty clay w/ a few swipes on the hood or any other horizontal panel. While kneading and turning the clay is important, you'd go thru 3-4 clay bars per car if you were that concerned about contaminants. Just because the contaminants aren't on the surface they're still IN...
