    Which Leather Treatment?

I didn't pay attention to your post. Reread and see where you mentioned they use a product for plastic. With that wouldn't a vinyl/plastic protectant be just as good and no need to by a different product just for the seats?

Recommedations for entry level car to show

It's not my new hobby yet. Just trying to see what I'd be getting into. :) What you said about having fun and learning a new trick or two and getting into maybe a friendly competition is exactly what I'm thinking about. Nice F-150.

Recommedations for entry level car to show

Great ideas!!!! You are correct, detailing isn't my fulltime job right now, but have a business setup to do so. Right now it's on the side while ramping up. Still figuring out what I like to do etc, but getting tired of just seeing how well I can get my junk panels and 2 cars to shine. Most...

    Which Leather Treatment?

WOW! I thought the point of lotion was to rub it in not layer it on like icing on a cake. Man that's a lot of residue on the before pix. FYI. I'm not claiming the 303 article as gospel but I like their product so far and I had a couple of leather stores tell me the same thing. The reason...

Emergency: I spilled Grape Jelly Sauce in My BMW X3

I have the bissel and it works ok. If it's like I perceive from your description, then it problem won't come out in one pass. You'll have to keep at it. I've had good luck with folex as well. I got a cherry soda stain out of a friends car with it. (Not exactly like jelly.) I just had to...

Do you wash your car before taking it in for servicing?

EXACTLY! Was thinking while typing, they don't do "free carwashes" or free anything. If you save them for washing the car, they should discount the service job.

    Which Leather Treatment?

I just recently had to do some research on leather and ran into some interesting info. Apparently today's leather in US & Japanese automobiles is covered by a plastic coating. Interesting read on the 303 website and it cites comments made by a Dr. Jenkins of Lexol 303 Products, Inc...

Do you wash your car before taking it in for servicing?

I'd take it as is and tell the service manager not to wash my car. If they do, they will be getting a bill to correct any damage they do. If they did, would give me an excuse to work on my car and get reimbursed for my time and products so I'd kind of hope they screwed it up. Probably...

Finding the best wax for the money

Thanks for the write up akimel. I can't help but ask, you said you experienced sweating problems? I'm trying to figure out how a wax could do that? I just ordered a 100 pack of nitrile gloves, 8511 mask & a half mask respiratory. I'm not chancing doing one thing to risk my health. Do you...

Finding the best wax for the money

Just looked this and looks like a good wax. Claims to last 2 to 3 months as well as the high $ ones I'm using. I'll definitely look into it next go around.

Recommedations for entry level car to show

"old piece????" Yeah right, truck looks great and thanks for the response. Since I posted I started looking at local car clubs. I found a camaro one a member got best of show at a pretty large show that comes around here to my understanding. It was a 2002 Camaro SS. The car looks bone...

Recommedations for entry level car to show

For kicks I've been kicking around getting some kind of vehicle to possibly show. The thinking is competition in doing new things to it and finding out what others do. I've never really been to a car show so I'm starting from square one. Starting out, I'm not getting a high car as I may want...

Finding the best wax for the money

I have Opti-Seal and put it on a car the other week. Was pleased with the results. Anxious to see how durable it is but I liked it. Thanks for the tip Trichard, I'll do some research on it

Finding the best wax for the money

Couldn't agree with you more. In this particular case though the car was dirty and swirled all out. I can't claim any credit as all I did is shoot it with the foam cannon, get all the dirt off and put the wax on it. From 5 ft thought it looked good and was a huge improvement. Heck with the...

Finding the best wax for the money

Hey Everyone, First thanks for the responses. I appreciate your thoughts. Also, for a little clarity, I'm not touting NXT as being anything special. There could be a $3 a bottle of wax out there that proves NXT to be overpriced and not my intent for this post. I listed it as it's the lowest...

Finding the best wax for the money

Waxes quality versus hype Preface, this thread wasn't started to create a knock down, drag out war of opinions. I know how to test etc and have spent a lot of money buying products to test and part of this thread to educate others down the road and take what I've found so far, start a...

Has Marketing Gone Too Far? "Effortlessly"?

I agree that I'm tired of the crap as well. False marketing claims, gimicky discount techniques and stuff that actually cost you more etc. I could go on. It is what it is, I'd much rather deal with a company that is straight up and honest. Tell it like it is. Also, when doing a comparison...

    What is a "chemical abrasive"?

I would consider a chemical abrasive something such as Meg's Body solvent for removing bugs or a leather cleaner. Each of these you most likely don't want to use force which could cause damage so you try and find a product that will chemically correct the problem you're dealing with.

    Mirror Detailing BMW M6

NP. I've just tried SwirlX before with a MF and didn't really see much effect so was curious what this looked like before. No matter, looks great.
