The Camaro is dead! Long live the Camaro

This one is subdued, there is a little 'burble' when I first hit the gas and a small amount of burbling when I coast in gear, but it sounds pretty good overall.

The Camaro is dead! Long live the Camaro

The car has (I believe) the RS package with the 2LT option. Which means it has a top speed of 155 (at least before the supercharger tune). But, most of all, I don't plan on testing the car's limits. Yes, aftermarket exhaust as well.

The Camaro is dead! Long live the Camaro

Last month, on the 18th, a distracted (being nice) driver totaled my black 2013 Camaro, and I was found "at fault" for swerving to keep him from t-boning me. I still get MAGOR POed even thinking about it. Fast-forward, and my wife (bless her), who found the black one as a Christmas present to...

FINALLY - Looking into Ceramic Coatings!

It's the first coating that I've actually SEEN installed by a detailer on YT that I trust ... I'll go ahead and say it, I've spoken with Phil Miranda several times, plus watched MANY of his videos. He and I seem to have a lot in common about detailing. Trying products for YOURSELF before making...

FINALLY - Looking into Ceramic Coatings!

I guess MY mind is a little boggled at the moment too LOL. I was VERY impressed with the ease of use of the C1 AND by it's characteristics after a year (with proper maintenance), however even though Phil Miranda assured me the C1 IS a valid option for BC/CC paints, the GTECHNIQ rep has me a bit...

FINALLY - Looking into Ceramic Coatings!

Phil Miranda (from Miranda Detailing - YouTube) put out a video on GTECHNIQ C1 ceramic coating. His demonstration made the process look so insanely easy, that it convinced me I need to try. Of course it is January and snowing + no heat in the garage, so I figure I have until April to deeply...

    I've been detailing THIS LONG!

This book (the 1st Edition) came out in 1988 - JUST BEFORE I started working at a shop and the detailing bug really took hold. I was "cleaning and waxing" car before then, but you couldn't call it 'Detailing.' The 2nd Edition (pictured here), came out in 1995, long after the shop and 3 years...

Don't laugh .. it was a Christmas present, and I'm pretty sure it could be useful

It's not something I would buy for myself, and after years of the PC and 5.5" pads, it DOES seem really HUGE. But as it was a gift from a nephew (who knows nothing about detailing), I owe it to him to find a use for it, and I think product removal will be the best bet.

Don't laugh .. it was a Christmas present, and I'm pretty sure it could be useful

So, for Christmas, my well-meaning nephew bought me an RO polisher ... It is one of those so-called "wax spreader" polishers available at Walmart. With a 10" pad from *AutoSpa. It comes with 1 foam bonnet for wax application and 1 microfiber bonnet for polish application/product removal. I plan...

    Much needed DECOMPRESSION.

The need for decompression is VITAL! I just found out Thursday during my 1-year check up after an incident in October '22 that I DID have a heart attack, when all this time I thought it was work-stress caused chest pain. I was lucky (God was with me), that it was an "Attention getter"/"Wake up...

    Why Can’t People Follow Directions?

I recently took my wife's Ford Escape in for warranty work. I had JUST finished a 4-step detail/winter prep on the car, and it was in immaculate (but dirty from being driven in the rain the day before). When dropping it off at the dealer, I looked the Service Advisor straight in the eye and...

"Clogging" pores in paint = triggering oxidation!?

My grandfather had a Kozak MANY years ago, before I had even thought of waxing a car (before I was legal to drive even), but even back then, he had stopped using it and began using cleaner-waxes ... this was before clear coat paint was even thought of. It reminds me of the guy who owned the...

"Clogging" pores in paint = triggering oxidation!?

Which is why twice a year (usually in the Spring and Fall), I will use a mild abrasive (such as the Ceramic Polish & Wax or a straight, light polish) to remove all the "old" waxes / sealants and start fresh. .

"Clogging" pores in paint = triggering oxidation!?

I am on a few detailing pages on FarceBook and I was explaining to someone the 3-step process I recently used on my Camaro and the wife's Escape that have yielded good results and was advised by someone else that by doing this it will "clog" the pores of the paint and CAUSE/trigger oxidation (at...

I didn't know he came back, that is AWESOME!!!!

Final detail of the Season - This is as good as my Camaro will ever get

You're right about the recognition not being the primary reason we detail cars. but I also have a confidence problem as well as an unhealthy "Need for Approval." Detailing can, at times, be a lot of work (time consuming) and it IS one of the things I do well AND really put my HEART into doing...

Final detail of the Season - This is as good as my Camaro will ever get

Same here. Can't argue with these results. Sadly, I just brought all my detailing chemicals in the house this morning - we had frost.
