Using a California Duster and believing the hype !
The dirtier it is : the better it works !
Wow ,mine should work real good, cause it is nice and dirty
Good info ! :dblthumb2: Just finished a car last week doing 2 sectional passes on speed 3 to get a little more pop on sides.
I saw one of your earlier posts about Ultimate Polish.
Personally,I have had good results using Meguiars M67 on a DA using a foam cut pad
Also a Rotary with a wool pad does well
The M67 has good correction and actually finishes out pretty good
If you only have minor swirls you could go with M49.
I follow up with Meguiars Flagship Wax
These...
I am also a fast boat freak, so I have to say NICE boat Mike ! :xyxthumbs:
I also like to remove the end of the hose , give it a final rinse,blow dry,then pat dry with waffle weave towel.
Blackfire Wet Diamond 2 coats and you can spruce up length of time it holds up with their Total Seal which is a wipe on and leave alone product or their Polymer spray which adds cross linking polymers to boost surface protection.
Also you can top it with Midnight Sun
Wet Diamond goes on...
I have been using Lake County 5.5" flat pads on my G110 polisher. I am using a 5" LC backer plate.
I have been getting great results with these pads ,but I have been reading a lot of good reviews on Meguires Microfiber pads and have a couple of questions :
Will these pads fit my 5" LC backer...
This sounds like a lot of BS to me I need a PFD to wade through Im the MAN all these ABBREV. just kidding !
BS= Bull Something
PFD= Personal Flotation Device
ABBREV = Abbreviations
What polish are you using,Does it have any correcting ability or is it a glaze ?
Meguiars and 3M make some good polishes for gelcoat. The last time I worked on my boat,I used Meguiars M67 followed by Meguiars Flagship Marine Wax with good results.
They have a couple of less aggressive...
Thanks Guys, Very informative info, Looks like I will be purchasing a PTG in the near future.
Also,some very impressive web sites for your businesses ! Its great to be able to get
input so quickly from experts ,sure accelerates the learning curve.
Good info,I was reading up on paint depth gauges earlier today and found out exactly
what you referred to about giving you the overall paint thickness and not the clearcoat actual thickness
So basicly it is a shot in the dark, and somewhat of a gamble anytime you take a compound or a polisher...
The next purchase I am considering is a paint thickness gauge, I have done corrections on a couple vehicles that have corrected to 95 %.
There were some scratches that I was reluctant to take out because of fear of going through the clearcoat.I feel like if I made a couple more passes ,I...
Not necessarily a lowball quote. You are the expert not him!
Do a good job and he will be the first one to recommend you for another job !
Afair price and a great job,you did nothing wrong.
Totally agree ! I now use the Brinkman,2 Fluorescents, a Halogen, and a 300 watt energy saver bulb which works great on white or silver.
The Brinkmans are great on dark colors,they show everything.
You cant fix what you dont see.
I have to say my Brinkman paid for itself today. I was looking over a black truck with my Brinkman for defects and noticed a strange coloring in the black on the door.
Upon further investigation with the Brinkman light on it, It was the maroon primer showing through the black paint. I could tell...
