    Mobile Detailing Business - questions

Most people don't care if you use their water and electric and I've read about many detailers removing the tanks from their rigs. You could always go to a rinseless wash as well.

    Mobile Detailing Business - questions

For what it's worth I've been looking at the Cr Spotless water systems, not sure I can justify the cost.

    Going through my numbers

Though I agree many people forget about taxes percentage depends on income since not all income is taxed at the same rate. I know SE is 15.3% of net for everyone who is self employed but when it comes to income tax the 1st 8,925 of net is taxed at 10%, the next 36,250 - 8,925 at 15% and so on...

    Going through my numbers

Never start a business like this with employees. 1st off you need to ensure consistant quality which is hard when you start with 3 people as variables, 2nd you need overhead to be as low as you can while still providing great service. The only way to do that is keeping tax structure as simple as...

NO, this is where people seem to not understand the law. Federal minimum wage in the USA is $7.25. The minimum hourly cash wage is $2.13. The max tip credit against minimum wage is $5.12. If the server fails to earn 5.12 in tips per hour the difference between tips earned, min hourly cash wage...

Every industry in the US is forced to pay federal minimum wage, the employer is supposed to make up the difference if tips and hourly do not equal the federal min wage, that's from a legal standpoint therefore when it comes to min wage all are equal. Look at my other post where I adressed that...

    Jumper cables...

An agressive charge can create gassing and if a spark in a cell happens BAM. If gasses ignighted outside of the battery I'd blame the connection on the terminal and wonder if the person properly connected the negative. I'm sure there are other reasons as well. Never used those specific cables.

Dr. Pain we seem to share the same opinion and nationality, their might be a connection there. I just wanted to add that some corporations like Costco do a great business and make a profit while giving all employees a fair wage, REI and others in retail do as well. It is possible but some...

We (I) learn something new everyday

Where is it that you can't use a pop up? Optimal would be in a garage, less than optimal like mobile out comes the popup. The only other option I can see is doing it on an overcast day and if this is a pro detail that isn't usually an option.

We (I) learn something new everyday

The only real answer I have is wash under a pop up tent or in a garage.

People have the right to be assholes due to free speech. It's not the best way to be but you can be. The owner of an establishment has the right to refuse this person service as well but an employer or employee does not have the right to sell a product to someone via misrepresentation. Don't...

The base service is covered by the wage, the base service is getting the product you order not decaf. Why do you have the right to change the product given? How does your employer feel about this? Though I don't agree with being rude what you are doing when you do that is BEYOND rude, it's...

Sounds like a template issue when the board was upgraded from 3.6 to 3.8. I remember this being pretty common.

PM or call Nick, I'm more than sure he could arrange a way for you to give him money. Honestly that guy does a job that is actualy tip-worthy. My point is just that tips are earned by providing a service beyond what you are paid to provide, the base service is covered by wages. If I were to...

So what do you tip AG then? I'm also a succesful CSCS with my own business, I don't change my service based on tips or no tips (though I did get a $500 tip last year when one of my clients placed at nationals) Even at $50-$80 an hour I can't see someone affording to tip everyone they interact...

It's the principle and moral issue not just coffee. How much do you tip the guys at AG for packing your order or handling tech questions? There is no way you tip everyone on a starbucks income.

The type of service decides the size of tip not the other way around, it's why I can't get tax deductions on tips though I can on the food and beverage, they are optional and degrading the service because you didn't get a tip last time isn't doing your chances of a tip this time any good. The...

    Not another Canadian!

The salt drives me insane, though I get happy when they start talking about running out of it. There is a reason most people have winter beaters and nice summer rides in the north.
