Last night I started writing a thread about trim restorers, in the hopes of stimulating a good discussion. I touched it up a bit this morning, hit the "Preview Post" button, got some message about a missing token, and lost the whole thing.

So I guess we won't be talking about trim restorers and saturation, etc. Oh well, you guys carry on without me.

I've had this happen on numerous occasions. Fortunately for me my responses are always only a sentence or two

I recommend that you try Black Wow Pro and don't take any wooden nickels (tokens)

it has been common for me, as well...

I've started the habit of copying the whole post to notepad or something, just in case.

Talk about eerie happenstances:

I had a rather protracted response, (regarding this subject matter), that I was preparing to share. But, then:
BAM! It, too, went the way, and then over: "The Dam".

I'm guessing it was about the same thing I was thinking, about "saturating" plastics.

Sounds like a template issue when the board was upgraded from 3.6 to 3.8. I remember this being pretty common.

I think this was more of a laziness issue that I didn't "save my work" by copying it off as Becciasm suggested, browsers crash all the time (at least IE does).

That; and:
How to (if possible) "replace" plasticizers.
I've even heard it called "healing"---no more of where the Band-Aid approach will suffice.

You and I have gone around about this before, I think. I completely understand how with the vinyls that are used for some trims there are plasticizers that are baked out, I'm not sure for the hard plastics used for cladding and wiper cowlings, that is what is going on. They don't shrink like vinyl, it seems more like UV damage rather than loss of volatiles/plasticizers.

I started looking up "UV degradation of plastic" last night and got some talk about free radicals and not to leave your PET bottle of soda or water out in the sun for 3 weeks because you won't be able to grow onions in the water.

Maybe tonight I will try to replace the plasticizers in my thread and get it going again.

A token issue isn't client side unless your session expires.

Being that I left it overnight, etc., I'd say my session was expired. I think that was the first message I got, then in "retrying" I got the token message.

Bob and me didn't have these problems in the old days when we used to write our musings in pencil...
