Griot's 6" ROP little copper thingies

Thanks for the replies. But where do they go on the orbital? :dunno: The directions say nothing about them. Sorry for the dumb question.

Griot's 6" ROP little copper thingies

Does anybody know what these two things for, above the 2 black screws? My machine did not come with Instructional DVD as stated on Griot's Garage site. I purchased my machine from AG. Thanks.

    Backing plates for Griot's ROP

Yes the plates screw on just fine. The radius is more noticeable with the smaller backing plates. I kinda figured it was OK but wanted to double check. Thank you both for your reply!

Car wash scratches on C6 Vet

I'm gonna be doing my vette this weekend. I was plan on starting with my Flex 3401, WG TSR 3.0 with an LC white pad. From reading the post, I should skip the above and go with Surbuf 6.5' & M105?

    Backing plates for Griot's ROP

When I put on the 3.5' or 5" backing plate on my Griot's the plates look off centered. Is this normal? The 6" backing plate that came with the machine is almost right on center. Thanks!

    Products used?

Thanks for the replies, folks. Hopefully I can get my Corvette to look like Max's. I will be using WG TSR 3.0, WG FG 3.0, and WG DGPS 3.0. I also have WG Fuzion. Where would I fit in Fuzion with respect to the three products I just listed? Thanks.

    Using the Makita 9227C

Thanks for the replies folks. Maybe I can exchange the pads for the smaller ones. I'll give AG a call on Monday.

    Using the Makita 9227C

I used Meg's 105, if that helps any. If the pads might be too large, I wonder why AG would sell them with the Makita?

    Using the Makita 9227C

I just got my Makita 9227C, with the Advanced Curved 8.5 inch CCS Foam Pad Kit. I noticed when using the machine it’s very hard to control. It wants to jump all over the place. How do I prevent this from happening? Thanks.

    Applying WG over Meg's

After I apply Meg’s 105 & 205, can I then go ahead and apply WG’s Paint Polish and Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant over the Meg’s product, or should I clean the paint first with Griot’s Garage Paint Prep? Note: I order the Meg's 105/205 to remove swirls and scratches that WG could not get out. I...

I don't get it (about Porter Cable kits)...

I just got my PCXP two weeks ago and realized how slow it is just to do a small area (2' X 2') and how it can bog down when applying pressure. I recently ordered a Makita (will be here tomorrow). If I like the Makita (which I'm sure I will), I may return the PCXP.

    Didn't quite work, next step

After I washed and clayed and wash again my 2004 Honda, I did a test spot using Wolfgang TSR 3.0, Poorboys SSR 2.5 and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound with a LC orange pad and the PC 7424XP. Before I started, I watched Mike's DVD a few times to make sure I use the correct technique. To my...
