    Best cheap tar remover

Seconded. I found some on clearance at Target one day for $1.09 each. I should have bought more.

    caution re: well known detailers

Sorry if I missed it, because I only briefly read over the thread. I am assuming the company in question, is the company in the comment listed in your signature?

    Well, here we go

If there is one thing I have learned in my time here, this is probably the most important. You could buy the most expensive products out there, but if your technique is not correct, you absolutely will not achieve the results you are looking for. Focus more on this, and less on what specific...

    Spray Wax with Carnauba Look?

I have been happy with this. For the price, it is a good buy!

Using leaf blower around water - any risk of electric shock

Well that kind of goes without saying, considering you just posted a reply to this thread. That would kind of be impossible if you had been electrocuted. ;) :p

Business Card even though I'm not a business?

I would give a few to any clients you do work for, and ask them to give them to any family/friends who would need your services. It's almost zero effort on your part, and like I said, even if you get 1 client from them, it was worth it.

Business Card even though I'm not a business?

I don't see how it could hurt. You can get 100 cards from a place like VistaPrint for under $10. If they generate just 1 client, they have just paid for themselves. Just put your name, phone, email, and something to say what it is you do, such as "High End Auto Detailing".

Got a very interesting job proposal but need serious help / input.

Don't take this the wrong way, because it is not meant to discredit you, but think about if you do not meet their expectations because it is just too much work and you stretch yourself thin by trying to do this all by yourself. That will pretty much all but eliminate any chance of future work...

Got a very interesting job proposal but need serious help / input.

Do you have any other employees, or will it be just you responsible for all 22 vehicles? It sounds like it could get overwhelming quickly if you are a one man show.

What day do you typically wash your car?

Saturday or Sunday morning, at the butt crack of dawn. I will finish at night (or once the sun gets to the other side of my house and my driveway is back in the shade) if I don't get everything done before the sun takes over my driveway.

    2013 M3 Melbourne Red

Beautiful car that is tastefully modded. I can't say red would be my first choice for an M3, but after seeing your car, I certainly wouldn't rule it out.

    Collinite Marque D'Elegance & Other Wax/Sealant Recommendations

Yes, I would definitely like to know if durability is improved. I was thinking 845 topped with 476 for winter, and then 845 topped with 915 for spring/summer. Or, and it would probably make more sense, just to buy one (either 476 or 915) and use that year round to top 845.

    Collinite Marque D'Elegance & Other Wax/Sealant Recommendations

What about topping 845 with either 915 or 476? Overkill?

    Caliper colors

I like the original the best, but out of the other options, blue would get my vote.

Do coatings take the fun out of detailing?

Completely agree. I hate to say it, but I am lucky if I get to wash my vehicles once a month anymore. Long gone are the days of once per week (sometimes more often) washes :( Of course, the tradeoff means I am spending more time with my wife and children, so it could be worse.
