Is pretreating necessary when rinseless washing?

Yes I am realizing that. I guess it was just an impulsive move to just wash the car without pretreating it. I always do it but I guess I got lazy.

Is pretreating necessary when rinseless washing?

Hello ... I always pretreat when I do a rinseless but today I just rinsed the car off and then did the rinseless without pretreating. I am having doubts if pretreating is really necessary or not. I feel it might provide some level of lubrication but how much is debatable. So I was wondering...

    Turtle Wax GRAPHENE Flex Wax

Of course, that's viral marketing for you. You have the various characters pushing the products via their "reviews." The manufacturers + retailers as well as the "reviewers" benefit from this - one gets the sales and the other gets views. Not saying it's bad or anything but you have to see it...

    Turtle Wax GRAPHENE Flex Wax

Sorry, I deleted my post. Seemed too wordy. As to graphene, maybe you're right. Maybe it's more than a bunch of companies trying to capitalize on the moment. We will see but true ceramic coatings are still a very small fraction of the overall market. But that hasn't stopped companies from...

Ceramic spray vs paste paint sealant.

Fye456, welcome! Glad to have you here. To correct the swirls on your truck, you should definitely get a dual orbiter polisher. That is the only real way you can get them out. If you can live with the swirls, then you can skip it. Waxes and sealants can be applied by hand. As far as spray on...

Has anyone used Optimum Big Red Sponge?

That's what I was thinking ... or overthinking lol. Yeah it does make sense - just rinse out the sponge. So I guess we have a few choices in the various sponges. All seem to be good. Thank you.

Has anyone used Optimum Big Red Sponge?

I've noticed that there are more options now. I'm also pretty happy with the BRS but just have been hesitant trying something besides ONR with it. Yeah the gold sponge seems awfully similar and I'm not sure if being softer is necessarily a good thing. How is the new black sponge? It seems like...

Has anyone used Optimum Big Red Sponge?

Ah ok, I did not even notice that Mckees has their own version (looks very similar) of the BRS. So I guess the wash media is isn't very specific to one rinseless vs. the other. I guess we fall for marketing sometimes and believe one thing has to be used because it was specifically made for a...

Has anyone used Optimum Big Red Sponge?

I am just wondering how the BRS works when using something besides ONR. I know that BRS was supposedly designed to work with ONR but I'm curious to see how it works with other products. Supposedly, ONR brings the dirt particles down to the bottom of wash bucket so you can safely wash the...

    Rust forming

Hmm ok. I'm just going to leave it be for a while and see how it does. As long as it does not grow, I'll be ok with it. Thanks.

    Rust forming

Hello, it appears that rust is forming in a small section of the trunk. I'm wondering what is a good approach for this issue. I was thinking of either living with it or maybe applying some IronX to it and then putting some touch up paint on top. The problem with the first idea is that the rust...

Bonded contaminants after only 1 month of not washing

I do appreciate everyone's responses. It does seem like not washing the car for that amount of time might be a big reason for wax/sealant weakening. But that is kind of interesting, isn't it. I'm not sure if I should just go ahead and clay or use a paint cleaner. I guess I can choose a test...

Bonded contaminants after only 1 month of not washing

Hello, I'm just a little surprised at how the surface of my car, especially the flat surfaces, have become rough with contaminants after just washing it. I haven't washed the car since about a month. The car has been through a lot of pollen and several rains and storms. It's had 2 layers of...

3D HD Speed or Meguiars D151

Do you suggest regular compressed air cans? Those are a bit quirky at times when I have used them. Thanks.

Buff and Shine 5.5 Inch White Pad

Yeah the white pad is very soft. On the product description on the websites it claims to be a Heavy Polishing Pad but the actual product I believe might not be it. I could be wrong though but the white pad feels quite a bit softer than the other colored pads (even the green one).

    HD Adapt or D151

Great job again custmsprty. Looks like you found the right combination! I'm thinking an AIO might not really be needed to be honest. I'm still in the beginning stages of learning about this stuff so just wondering about things. I've got HD Polish so is there a real need for HD Speed if I'm going...

    HD Adapt or D151

Hi custmsprty, your thread and positive feedback was one of the reasons I purchased Adapt. So thanks for that. I'm just wondering what kind of product D151 is - is it similar in cutting and finishing ability to Adapt? I'm wondering if there is any reason for D151 for a person who doesn't detail...
