First post and its not a good one

:iagree:I'm sure you can make it better, but will it be good enough that you can live with it.

my brand new GG 6" orbiter polisher is already dead

Same think just happened to me. First time using it. Polished the car, used it to apply a glaze and was in the process of applying a sealant and it decided to stop working. Sent it in 8/28 and got a call a few days after they received it to verify the shipping info and a replacement should be...

    New Hobby Member

Welcome, love the color! The BRZ was on my short list when I was car shopping last fall but I didn't think I'd like driving it in the snow.

Do coatings take the fun out of detailing?

Coatings have their place. This is all pretty new to me now I look forward to washing my car and having to wax it. I have the time and find it very relaxing.

    Chemical Guys Customer Service Sucks

I have placed a couple orders with them and haven't had any issues, but I have read a few horror stories about their customer service. In fact a guy was posting on the CG forum about getting a damaged shipment and it took WEEKS before they finally made it right. Not good.

    Mineral Deposits from Hell

Wow, that is crazy. This Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover, glass polish, metal polish, mineral spot remover worked great on some water spots on my car but they weren't anything like that. Good luck.

    Ford Focus Pillar Correction

The pillar are pretty soft. I used a polish (V38) on a white pad. First try got rid of most of them, second time they were all gone and the pillars were nice and shiny.

    Bicyclist Rant

Fortunately I don't need to drive in areas with a lot of bike traffic during the week but there is a road I regularly drive on the weekends that has a lot of bike traffic. It has a wide shoulder so if they are single file no problem. It's the packs that decide they want to ride 2 or 3 wide and...

    Hello from Minneapolis

Thanks! If I only knew then what I know now I wouldn't have even considered it. Last winter one of the harshest winters I can remember and I will say up until I polished it the only thing I did was wash it. The car still looked good after a wash, so who knows maybe the coating would have been...

45th Anniversary Camaro - Rejuvenated and Coated

 They are helpful, I made an LED work light based off that thread and didn't even realize it was your thread  . It did work well but I still had a difficult time finding the defects. I'm sure I'll get better at working with it next time.

    Let's talk window tint

I'd go with a good ceramic tint. Formula One Pinnacle and Llumar CTX are both good products. The 3M tints are nice but I think they are over priced. $240 is a great price around here.

First machine polish this weekend, few question!

Sounds like a good plan but wouldn't bother covering it with a sheet overnight. I'd be worried about adding scratches doing that. If you end up compounding and polishing I would plan 2 days.
