I have seen that before; thanks for linking it though. We've done some pretty decent rock chip repairs but never anything as deep as what this is. We're just concerned about applying touch-up paint only in such a deep chip.

Always a PITA for any decal that isnt clear-coated over.

Hello All, Looking for your input on fixing the rock chip pictured below on a Viper. It is definitely deep and is about 2-3mm in diameter but does not appear to be completely through the paint. Should this be filled before applying touch-up paint? Any and all help welcome. Thanks guys.

Long-term risk of continuous polishing can be eating completely through the clear in areas. Do it once and do it well and then do your absolute best to avoid it reaching a point where it needs any heavy cut. It may be worth considering to have the truck selaed or coated as it lasts much longer...

Theres always a trade-off between price and quality. it sucks youre dealing with customers that dont see that. Sure, he does it for $40. Is it actually detailed or did he just clean it? because to me there is a distinct difference between the two.

You cant. Thats melted synthetic fiber. Not much you can do but clean it a bit very carefully.

If its painted then the material doesnt really matter; the effects of polishing are seen in the paint. Just be gentle so you dont indent any panels while polishing. Id tape off everything that isnt painted first though considering how small panels are on this.
