    Opinion on these micro fibers

If you cant afford quality towels then the rest of the good stuff you bought is useless. If you scratch the clear wiping polish off then what good is the correction you just did?

    HELP with leveler

He wasnt saying that lacquer thinnger/mineral spirits isnt the way to go just that the correct method is to use a flat object wrapped in a fine cloth to level which makes pulling paint out of the chip less likely.

    HELP with leveler

Have to take into account curing time. I think factory clear is baked. This touch up is air drying and only for 24-48 hours max. I think clear coat, because of its base, is resistant to many solvents that paint is not.

    drill for polish: why not?

Im sure with enough patience and experience you could produce decent results. But why try to drive finish nails with a sledge hammer? Buy the right equipment and do it right the first time. We dont want to have to say "I told you so."

best way to clean off "heavy dust" from car? wash or use duster?

Is it bonded to the surface or just loose? if its been sitting so long I'd bet some of it wont move with just the brush.

need some guidence on 2008 Corvette Z06

IIRC C6 paint is pretty "hard" and should take some doing. But always start with your least aggressive and move up as needed after doing a test spot. If youre washed and clayed then theres nothing too special; just take your time! Oh, and nice buy!

    Never Wax a Car?!

If water spots develop from beads on wax, then what happens with water on bare paint/clear? If you have hard water that effect is only going to be exacerbated when its sitting on unprotected paint. We only call them "water spots" because thats the shape a bead is. If water doesnt bead, then its...

I have a few questions about DA polishing.

^^ Good advice to start with. Your final speed will change with the machine youre using, the product, the finish, etc. Its a feel thing; not a science. Keep the pad flat, and only increase pressure up until a point. If it isnt working you probably need a heavier pad/polish as opposed to more...

    what am I doing wrong/clear coat & wax Q's

Was going to ask the same question. That will help, but some swirls and scratches are inevitable. Do (or pay for, wherever you are in your detailing journey) a 100% full blown paint prep once with a full correction and then seal it and maintain. When its corrected and sealed nicely dirt has a...

Ever walk to your car; stop and stare?

If you dont look back at your car every time you walk away then you're driving the wrong car. Just happens to be a bonus that ours will always be clean! Except for that one..... I hear theyre remaking Birds...are you staring?

    300 cars a day @ $15

"Detailing" is just a nicer term for him to sell his service. "car washer" sounds like an awful job. "Detailer" sounds much more specialized and professional. Its all about perception, not reality.

    Interior Process

Right, obviously use the closest substitute if you dont have access to any of that stuff. Compressed air isnt necessary at all, but man is it helpful.

Chemical Guys All Clean + Safe?

Yup! Also why its best to do wheels first and be wary of getting anything used on them anywhere else on the car. Not that is isnt safe, but its a wheel cleaner for a reason and has inherently got to be more harsh than a soap.

    Interior Process

I disagree with the above. My process is as follows: -Compressed air and confined space tool on entire interior and unsettle loose dirt and to dig ground in dirt out of trim seams and such. -Vacuum everything in the vehicle excluding any carpet (youre going to be going in and out of the...

What does everyone think of chemical guys Black wax

Aside from being a total pain in the asses to get the cover back on it finished great the last time I used it. Sounds like I need to buy some black-ice.

Detailed a car with an absolutely overpowering pot smell inside. Steaming EVERYTHING did the trick for us. If its a long-time smoker it may not come out the first time. Cant stand cigarette smell....

    How long should it take?

What services are you including? Are we talking about a detail in addition to a paint correction? Obviously some paint conditions are going to be worse than others and some will be easier to correct. This is probably something youre going to have to assess on an individual basis after some...
