I have great luck with using a terry cloth with Meguairs M105 (which is easy to get under the door handle) or I have also cut an orange cutting pad and used Meguiars M105 as well. Just rub it for a few moments and the scratches are gone.

Rapid remover is pretty good stuff. Heat works well to soften it up and scrape it off with something plastic like a plastic razor blade .. or maybe even an old gift card or something.

A light polish shouldn't remove a two layer 5 year 9h coating. An aggressive compound with an aggressive pad I would imagine would damage it for sure.

Well the idea with the steam was to kill bacteria and to bring it to the top. Then of course extractor on vacuum only to get it out.. and then ya with water as well after.
