Trading a half bottle of Eagle one tire shine might be tough....but an accidental spill can always happen  I have been very clumsy lately

Need help...getting ready for new black car

Hey trichard What is your assessment of the Maxwax vs the Souveran. One is $30 and a "hidden gem". The other one is $95 and highly regarded. dunno what to do at thos point: is the $95 worth it? Is the MaxWax so close to the souveran that $30 would be better spent with that?

Need help...getting ready for new black car

I do realize the car could have swirls. With that said: - the car is a BMW European Delivery Program. When I saw it in Munich, it did not have swirls (I closely inspected that) and it is not supposed to get washed until it reaches the dealership. And I asked the dealership to NOT wash it (in...

Need help...getting ready for new black car

So, I'll be resurecting this thread for a little bit. The car got delayed from Germany a bit, giving me more time to research and put in my order. I did this a couple days ago and ended up with the following: - PC package with "select your own pads". I took 2 orange, 2 white, 1 black, and it...

    Autogeek Detail Bag

I believe the bag is designed to hold 10 16oz and 2 8oz bottles. IIRC, the 16oz bottles that fit best are the tall ones (black or white) sold on AG which I suspect to be the ones Pinnacle, WG and DP products are typically bottled in

    DP auto bath shampoo suds....??

I use about 2oz for a 2.5 gallon bucket or so and use the hose to foam it up. It does wash very well (lots of lubrication / cleans very well / leaves car shiny), it does foam up, but may be not as much as other products. I used to use Megs Gold Class and like the shine from the DP better.

Need help...getting ready for new black car

That would be about time! I have owned a 2004 and then a 2008 3 series, and both were a Royal pain for their clear coat was like jelly. I am glad they moved to something a little harder. I have never tried these, but had my eye on them (as well as some of the Pinnacle ones). I will order some...

Need help...getting ready for new black car

These are good suggestion. I always ask the dealer to not wash my car and did this again:xyxthumbs: Instead of the leaf blower, I have the drying towels, but since I own a blower, maybe I should try. So, out with meg, in with Souveran and I guess I will try Wolfgang for the sealant. Should I...

Need help...getting ready for new black car

Yes, no, I mean wash, dry, wheels and interior are covered. My problem is that I know black looks great and detailed right and just the opposite if not. As a side note, I have tried the DP wash and it is a great product for the $$$, especialy since I got it in a BOGO sale

Need help...getting ready for new black car

Hello everyone, Well, it was "new car time" and I have ordered a black BMW:xyxthumbs:. The problem is: I have never owned a black car and do not know if I should buy extra products compared to what I have. Here's what I own: - Tools: MF towels / drying towels / polishing towels, Brushes for...

    Wheel Sealants

I agree with those that say a good paint sealant works just as well as a wheel sealant. I use Klasse SG on my BMW and it allows me to go for about 1-2 months of cleaning the rims with just a little distilled water in a sprayer (or have rain do this, but since I am in TX, it's just not happening...

    Klasse Sealant

Hey Mike, What do you think of diluting SG 1/4 in distilled water to spary on the applicator. I do this and it works great but is the product being less efficient because of the water?

    Klasse Sealant

It is going to be tough answering after the super detailed answer from Mike, but just as a point of reference: - I recently detailed my wife's 02 Passat wagon, which most likely had never seen a real detailing in over 3 years (recent purchase for us). What I did is wash/dry then inspected the...

    What glaze to use

I absolutely love it, and this is my go to glaze. It works wonders on my BMW, works great on my wife's VW and on a volvo S60. It fills minor swirls very well, and does not prevent me from using either a wax (typical=Meg Gold Class) or Klasse SG (although I prefer AIO prior to SG). I was given...

    Texas Chili.....

This joke brings back some memories of me and my european origins moving to Texas 10 years ago....back then, it really felt like the locals ate stuff that I could put in a car and go 200mph. After 10 years, I find myself shooting extra tabasco or cayenne pepper in quite a few dishes :)

    IPA , Isopropyl alcohol

Thanks Rasky and Jimmie, I have, yet one more time, learnt something. I usualy use Klasse SG as my LSP (or Klasse then Carnauba), and prior to that either AIO (quick detailing) or 3M hand imperial glaze after polishing. From what you are telling me, it makes sense that the IPA thing sounded to...

    IPA , Isopropyl alcohol

OK, before a rudely state that this whole IPA thing is a crock of something, can someone explain to me the principle here. I mean, assuming: - a typical routine would be wash/dry/paint cleanser/polish with or without abrasives/sealant and-or wax - a typical polish may or may not have...

    Howdy from College Station, TX

Hi everybody,Just stopping by and saying hello. I am getting back into detailing, after a 2 years period where I just washed our cars. I am maintaining 3 cars at present: - my wife's VW Passat wagon, currently in need of a good full detail job scheduled for next week-end - my own BMW 335i - my...
