    Orange Peel

Welcome to Chrysler paint :laughing: I thought Nissan's paint was bad on my silver 350Z, it doesn't have anything on the black forest green on my Jeep. I did kind of notice it adds to the shimmer effect of the really shiny metallic paint in the bright sunlight though, so maybe it's...

AutoGeek isn't just for cars! ...Cleaning around the house too!

Yep OPC makes a great cleaner when you have something really stuck. I used it once to take fake Halloween blood out of some patio furniture. Not the cloth part but some worn metal that is either some kind of coating or really cracked & faded paint but seems porous.

    ONR Turns clear

Hmm guess I always assumed it did. Maybe they just somehow neutralize the smell and leave the chlorine? I know unfiltered water smells like a pool to me and the filtered doesn't.

    Happy friday!!!!

Hmm, wash the Jeep finally. It's got a month of bugs and road dirt on it and apparently the trees in the grocery store lot were dropping sap :( I need to do an ONR on it since I don't have a top on, but I don't know if ONR by itself is going to get the sap off. We'll see. Other than that...

Photography 101 - The low down front grill shot

Awesome pics guys, keep 'em coming :) I'll see if I can find some similar pics of my old 350Z later and add them. Yep it's a great way to show a different view. It's a big part of being creative with your photography. We all know what a car looks like from the standing up and just looking...

    ONR Turns clear

Huh, guess faucet mounted water filters aren't that great then lol. I use that in all my bottles and my ONR dilutions turn light as well.

    Happy Friday!!!

Probably not, my parents will be coming off of a looong flight. They're flying back from Venice from a cruise they went on. I'm sure all they will want is to stop for lunch and get home. Plus if we stay too long there will be bay area traffic to deal with which is nastyyyyy.

    Happy Friday!!!

GF got discounted tickets to a wine & cheese fair tomorrow, so I guess we're going to go drink & eat tomorrow afternoon lol. Sunday I might finally get the Jeep washed since she's working. Then I'm off M-T to pick my parents up at the airport in San Francisco (2 hours one way) and Tuesday...

which smaller pads to go with 5.5" on a PC?

Thanks guys, I'll keep the Optimum MF pads in mind too. I actually didn't realize it but they have polishing and cutting pads all the way down to 3". I might have to look into that. Like I said I was debating picking up some of the Optimum GPS spray for routine use on one of the vehicles I...

which smaller pads to go with 5.5" on a PC?

Thanks Nick. Do you think it's worth it to go to hydrotechs for my 5.5" size as well? If so, how well do they work with both SMAT and DAT products? I guess it just seems "weird" to me to go to a line where there's only 3 "cuts" vs. the others with much finer control via more selection. I...

which smaller pads to go with 5.5" on a PC?

So right now I'm using the 5" back plate with 5.5" pads on my PC. I'd like to get a second smaller backing plate and pads for the smaller detail areas. I've switched over to using the LC flat pads because they work better with the Wolfgang DAT type products I have (though I might grab some of...

    Happy friday!!!!

:eek: ooops, have totally forgotten about the pics lol /sigh. Putting on some JKS Quicker Disconnects swaybar disconnects so I can get more suspension travel up front while off-road. These seem to be a lot better design than the ones I tried to install a few months ago and sent back...

    Happy friday!!!!

Happy Friday all. Going to have a semi-relaxed weekend. Going up north tomorrow to a friend's shop to install some Jeep parts and then maybe a quick trip off-road to test them out. Sunday is pretty much nothing. Thinking about doing a smoked tri-tip which I hear is a pretty amazing thing...

    looking for the one go-to-wax

I don't know what that collinite paste one is, but based off what I've read around here........... From that selection I'd say the 845 for its durability.

    Happy independence friday!!!

Well, here's a tip I just learned the hard way. This process is not a good idea when it's 90+ degrees out and the sun in shining on the grill. Couldn't get the temp to go low enough and it was already 104 in there without even turning it on!! Looks like I'll be trying this tonight when the...

    Happy independence friday!!!

So I learned this from the Good Eats cooking show on Food Network, the "Right on Q" 1 hour special. Basically you have to crank everything down so you can get 225 degrees air temp. This usually means only one burner on low and then cranking the tank valve down some even. If the grill has...

    Happy independence friday!!!

Happy Friday all! Nothing too big going on this weekend again (nice change from all the busy ones lol). Going to a car show after work, the same group that I showed my Z in 3 years ago that spawned me to make my first AG order in years lol. Of course now I'm just going as a spectator but it's...

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

????? If you're prepping the paint properly and using a good quality sealant then maintaining the vehicle correctly, the sealant will last months not weeks. Most carnubas will wear off in a couple months max but sealants last much much longer.
