I used speed 6 for the orange pad with the ultimate compound, and speed 4 for polishing with gray pad. I also used the 5.5" backing plate along with 5.5" pads. I have no experience with the 6.5" pads but from what i could gather on the forums the 5.5" are the way to go. I would also recommend...

Getting a feel for the Griots (pics) Today I started playing around with my griots and did the front clip of my car. While it is not perfect, i am pleased with the results!! :) I tried swirlX on a white pad but i was not happy with how that worked so i then proceeded to use Ultimate Compound...

yes that is a scratch. I believe a random orbital polisher will take care of it and the other shallow scratches the owner has. I let them know I would try to correct them once i get a polisher and experience.
