Man, I’m so discouraged from doing my second car after this experience. You really need perfect conditions to do this kind of thing at home - my garage lighting is not the best. Might stick to ‘cancoat’ next time. Was much easier and fault free the last two times I used it.

I had a look earlier ... it's SiO2 content is >10% so I expected some protection .. but clearly didn't get that much. Again, as you guys have mentioned, it was never advertised to provide scratch resistance ... just the other stuff they advertise like gloss, water repelling, self cleaning etc...

Don't tell me that ... I already have a package of MOHS ready to go lol. I am sure it's definitely going to provide better scratch resistance than the CanCoat but at the same time, I am not expecting errant doors to be bouncing off the MOHS coating :laughing:

Ahhh absolutely ! CanCoat was really just the practice run with using the DA polisher for the first time and applying a SiO2 coating. I will just re-do the car with MOHS in 6-12 months. Have to say I have been really happy with the self cleaning and gloss of CanCoat but you guys have pointed...

Gotcha ! I will start with the Polish (2400) as opposed to the Cut (400). Will only use the Cut if necessary.

I should update to say a 'scratch' would be an exaggeration and it is more of a marring which could only be seen at certain angles ... Which was then exacerbated by me using my stupid fingers to see if the initial marring would rub out, causing further fine swirls (due to there being I guess...

Ok cool. Just had a quick inspection and my few finger rubs has caused a few more scratches !! Thought CanCoat would give it a bit more protection than that ... it’s been over a week. Should have cured already. Maybe I didn’t put enough on there ?

Hey guys, the wife has managed to put a light scratch mark on the door. The 2 layers of CanCoat is only a week old .. What are my options ? Go through the cut/polish/finish of the whole door panel or just that small 2” x 2” spot and apply the two layers of CanCoat again ?

I have been told to wait 30 days before polishing and sealing my bumper bar (can polish now, but do not wax it). I'd just leave it until then.

Is it OK to use a spray wax on top of the CanCoat coating .. I will probably use this alternately on a weekly basis with the bottle of Cure that I am currently using. Only asking because I purchased Duragloss Aquawax in bulk and have maybe 4 litres of it remaining !!! I do not want it to ruin...
