What pad size when applying wax via DA?

with wax, you're moving across the surface pretty fast so size isn't as much of an issue. but if you can't fit a 5.5" pad into your can of wax, then use something smaller.

Yes... Another "Critique My Business Card Thread"

Most, but not in the same market hopefully! Also if you question it, you question many on this forum. Still, I agree it's bcoming dangerously ubiquitous.

    promotional and ongoing advertising costs?

The website IS advertising. Include it in your advertising budget. Business cards are too--you'll want your customers to have those so they can pass them on (referrals). Promotional material you hand out at the car shows is advertising. I'd also consider professional photography to show your...

    When to Clay bar?!

I was doing a quickie post-winter wash and wax and did not clay. I did see some embedded who-knows-what and feel it in the paint. I wasn't ready to strip and do a full wax however so I didn't clay it yet.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 Question

I played around with a free sample of WGTSR and was sold on the product. It cleaned up paint that I couldn't get clean with optimum compound ii followed by poli-seal. The Wolfgang finished out practically LSP ready and left zero dust. Compound II on the other hand... it's like someone used a...

    issue with optimum opti-seal

I think a control test would be a good idea. Get someone else with opti-seal experience (and experience with all the same products) to come and apply them to your car(s) and see if the results match what you do. If they get streaks, it could be the products. If they don't get streaks, it's...

Question about threads being marked as viewed

So when you are done reading the forum, go to the upper right of the menu bar at the top of the page and click on "quick links" and select "Mark Forums Read". This gives you better control over what you have and haven't read and helps prevent you from missing stuff or reading it twice.

LED v.s. Fluorescent lights in the garage

Fluorescent lights ARE somewhat temperature dependent. If it's cold enough in the garage, they may never come up to temp and not be as bright as you might want. They can warm up if they're in a reflector that traps hot air. In my basement, we have some BR-style reflector compact...

    SON1C Synopsis 21 : Chemical Guys - AllClean+ Review

I didn't because I didn't have an empty bottle to mix it into handy. Mechanical means was fine since it's not a show car and just a dead pedal. The sad part of this story is that after all my hard exterior paint work, the guy wants to plasti-dip or vinyl wrap the car. Learning experience...

    CG Honeydew with Gilmour Foamaster

I just picked up a foamaster II and was curious how much soap you REALLY go through for a single car wash. For example, if you set the dial on "C" and go to town, will it drain it before you get the whole car foamed?

Does anyone polish during pollen season?

If your garage is detached, turn your garage into a semi-clean room. Get a ducted fan and an HVAC HEPA filter and blow air into the garage so it is under positive pressure with filtered air. Pollen wont get in. If your garage is attached, it'll just blow all the toxic fumes into the house.

you dont need a camera that costs more than $400. You can do it with a point and shoot like the Canon S110 or with a cheap DSLR and kit lens. The trick is learning HOW.
